It’s a pain in the arse but quite straightforward once you get used to it all.
That's the kind of nonsense that lingers: the kind you decide you can get used to tolerating. It's been 20 years now, and people still tolerate the TSA gate rape and porno-scanners here in the US despite repeated pen tests showing they fail at their one job while they are distracted by fondling grannies and such. Likewise, masks seem more about performative compliance than a rational response to risk.

I suspect COVID passes may become mandatory in the future for international travel. It's a case of -shrug-, we can't do anything about it. Get jabbed or stay here forever.
Or find ways to travel illegally.
