Matt Hasselbeck 2004 Fleer Ultra Gridiron Producers Card - Seattle Seahawks Quarterback

In my opinion, Matt Hasselbeck is a pretty forgotten great player from the 2000's. He always had a competitive, if not good team when he was a team's starting QB. He didn't always have the coolest stats or the sickest highlights, but Matt was competitive with a solid football IQ.

I have a lot of memories of Matt growing up. He's best known for his days as a Seattle Seahawk. The guy is a legend in Seattle. As a Seahawk, Hasselbeck was simply a playoff machine, leading the Seahawks to the postseason with regularity. Matt was a Seahawk for a full decade from 2001-2010, and in that time he led the Seahawks to the playoffs six times including a fun streak of five consecutive seasons in a row from 2003-2007.

Matt wasn't simply a guy that went to the playoffs either, the dude was really competitive and won to a pretty respectable degree when he got there. Matt was 5-6 in his career in the playoffs, and even helped lead the Seahawks to their first Super Bowl appearance before losing to the Steelers in the 2005/06 season. So the back of this card was pretty accurate! In my opinion, Matt sort of reminds me of a poor man's Tom Brady, which really is not a bad thing!

What a nice card. Simple, but with the nice tweak of having non square, design border!

Matt Hasselbeck's Career Stats

  • 36,638 Passing Yards
    • 1,231 Rushing Yards
  • 212 Passing Touchdowns - 153 Interceptions
    • 8 Rushing Touchdowns
  • 3x Pro Bowls
  • 85-75 Record as Starting QB

Most people forget about Matt Hasselbeck's career after he left Seattle. But post-Seattle Matt would throw play in 29 more games and throw for seven thousand more yards before finally hanging the cleats up.

Matt would go on to play for the Titans for two seasons and the Colts for three, although Matt played in more games with Tennessee.

As a Titans fan, I do appreciate Matt's very brief time with the Titans. In 2011 Matt started all 16 games for the Titans and led the Titans to a winning record of 9-7! The Titans would have made the playoffs that season, if they had the current playoff system they have now, as they finished as the seventh seed that season.

But yeah, after the 2015/16 season, Matt retired and he's been chilling on ESPN ever since.

Justin Fields is on the right track, Jay Cutler was decent at times. Finding a QB can be a tough task for sure

Cutler had no heart. I hated him ever since he laid down on the playoffs vs Green Bay.. here's some game footage if you don't remember..
