Getting Ready

This is an unusual preparation day for us. We are welcoming in the Sabbath as usual tonight, but after dinner we're dropping children off at my wife's family, and we're driving to Lansing. My brother is also a delegate and just happened to have a room next door to the convention hall. We decided it would make things much easier if we had the children spend the night, and travel up early, rather than driving early in the morning running the possibility of being late.

Not being there during the voting, means not voting. Everything begins at 10 AM, so we want to make sure we're there and ready.

You'd think we're going on vacation! In reality, it's one evening overnight and half a day. We expect the convention to be over sometime afternoon. It could go late, I suppose we'll find out!

This will be our first time participating in a state convention, it will be a leaning experience for us! We are representing our district, which is a population of a few hundred people. It's a great responsibility for us to represent the conservative views of our local neighborhoods - and after speaking with people around us, registered Republicans are very conservative where we live. They are especially unhappy with the current established Republican party.

We will see how this process goes, if there are any upsets, or disorder. All we know is that we will be quiet, observant and circumspect.

And reverent on the day the Most High set aside from the other days!
