Food Sharing #292 - The Yook @ Chatswood, Australia
Hi Everyone,
Trying to find a table for two families on the weekend could be a challenging task. My friends found a table at The Yook at Chatswood as the kids love Korean BBQ. Saturday nights in Sydney have become so busy recently as people have gone back to their daily lives eating out and living with Covid. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but our table was ready very quickly.
We ordered potato noodles for the kids, lots of meat, seafood pancakes, 2 serves of yukke (raw beef), and 2 serves of steamed eggs as the kids loved them. Of course, we got many side dishes including quail eggs, kimchi, salads, and more.
The egg and meat came quickly, so we started munching on that first. The steamed egg was a hit amongst the kids which is why we ordered another serving quickly. The meat was very good quality might be due to the set we ordered from the menu.
The seafood pancakes were nice and crunchy though I found that they probably didn’t put enough seafood compared with other restaurants. The yukke was divine. We decided to order 1 serving per couple as we all love this dish and ordering 1 would not be enough. The beef mixed with the vegetables and egg was a perfect combination and was just right between two people.
The service was slow that night as it was a very busy night. We had to wait for potato noodles for a very long time, and by that time, the kids were too tired to finish it all, and they filled up with lots of meat. The price of the dishes was on the higher end, but due to inflation, this is probably the start of the norm. Lots of free parking in the building and if you have time, there is a nice dessert place next door which we headed straight after we finished the meal.
