After the drama with the draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 fixtures yesterday, the fixtures were redrawn and here we have the new fixtures scheduled for February. We have some mouth-watering clashes which I am personally looking forward to. I would take the focus away from the financial motive of UEFA and just focus on these fixtures with my predictions as well.

PSG v Real Madrid.

This is going to be another interesting match with the focus on Messi playing against Madrid again and Sergio Ramos going back to the club he spent most of his career which is Real Madrid. It would be a huge motivation for Messi to get one over Real Madrid and quite emotional for Sergio Ramos too because he didn't have the chance to give a proper farewell as he would have hoped for.

I am sticking with Real Madrid to knock out PSG because Real Madrid possesses some amazing young talents even though PSG is blessed with arrays of stars but they struggle to gel and play together as a team. A lot is expected of PSG but they are not living up to it. Let's hope they can pick up better form before February but it's going to be an exciting match. Real Madrid would knock out PSG... That's my prediction.

Sporting v Manchester City.

No disrespect to Sporting Lisbon but this is a direct one for me without much to talk about. I know any team that got past the group stage into the round of 16 should not be overlooked or underrated but Manchester City would easily put Sporting Lisbon to the sword and qualify for the next round.

RB Salzburg v Bayern Munich.

If anyone watched how Bayern Munich disgraced Barcelona just a couple of weeks ago, then you have every right to sympathize with Salzburg and I don't mean that as disrespect in any way because of the obvious talents Bayern Munich have in their ranks. I am definitely going with Bayern Munich for this round...they would beat them home and away.

Inter Milan v Liverpool.

There is no denying the obvious talents within the ranks of this Milan side but with the brilliance of Mohammed Salah and the unpredictability of Mane and the obvious strength of Jota, Liverpool would manage to get past this Milan side, so I am going with a Liverpool win. It won't be easy but they would qualify.

Chelsea v Lille.

I think this match was made to be hahaha because after the first draw that was chalked out, Chelsea still got drawn with Lille and as I've said before without any disrespect to any team, Chelsea would easily get past Lille...home and away. I am going with Chelsea for this round.

Villarreal v Juventus.

Villarreal are exciting and Juventus seemed to have found their mojo in Europe with how amazing they played the group stage matches. This would be a tightly contested affair and it won't be easy for both sides. Since I have to stick with a side, then I would go with Juventus.

Atletico Madrid v Manchester United.

This is another match that would be evenly balanced. We all know how tough Diego Simeone's team can be and they have been struggling of late despite the trickery of Luis Suarez and the obvious talent of João Felix. The recent 2-0 in the Madrid derby proved it yet again.

Manchester United on the other hand, despite being at the hands of another Manager, are still trying to exert themselves in matches and their recent struggles again bottom Norwich in the league highlighted this. They can be devastating on their day but you just don't know which United can turn up in matches that means a lot. Out of loyalty, I would stick with Manchester United to knock out Atletico Madrid even though it won't be an easy match.

Benfica v Ajax.

After their giant-slaying display against Barcelona in the group stage, it would be unfair to rule Benfica out completely and their performances have shown that they deserve respect and should be taken seriously. Ajax has been in sensational form with their talisman; Sebastian Haller enjoying the form of his life and he would hope to continue it especially when it matters the most. I would stick with Ajax for this round because of how exciting and adventurous they are.

What are your predictions for each game? I would love to read yours.

Thank you for your time.

I really hope they do too because United struggle against tight defence.

I really need to try and get back into the Champions League. I'm so disillusioned with all the corruption in football at the moment. Its the modern game i suppose

I agree ... part of me would love to see a salary cap but that would completely change how football works

I stand with in all of your predictions except the PSG one. Don't get me wrong logically speaking you are correct but I have so much faith in Messi and believe/hope his form will pick up by the time the match starts
