Hello Splinterlanders, It time for another Splinterland weekly battle challenge episode and we are going into the water realm this time to pick one of the melee monster cards which is Flying Squid which is a 7 mana card with some amazing abilities like the the Reach in level 1 which allow the melee card to attack from the second position, Blind at level 6 which make opponent melee and ranger cards to miss their target and also Backfire which did 2 damage back to the opponent card if it miss this monster with an attack. The backfire is really a new ability but it is a good one, I dont have a max squid yet and I really dont use this particular card except i have a big mana cap battle, but with this new updates, I will start using it because of those abilities.

The Battle Proper

The battle was between I and @supermariopanda in a 58 mana cap battle, we could choose from any element except fire and death and we were giving the Rise of the common which allow use to use only common and rare monster cards and also the Heavy hitters which give all cards the knock out ability, with this rule anyone using a stun ability cards can do double damage but I wasnt planning to use any stun cards. I picked Kelya Frendul, the water summoner, since we have a huge mana cap, I decided to pick some strong cards with good health and strength. so I picked

Diemonshark a 8 mana cap monster cards. since am using lvl 6, I only have the trample and enrage abilities, this card is always a good frontliner because of this two abilities, increase in stats and also additional damage if it kills a monster card, The main card Flying Squid in second position as usual then I add Deepluker next which have this opportunity and poison abilities, this card is really deadly if not destroyed on time and it can always attack opponent card with the lowest health. Incase the use any card with no attack, I picked Captain's Ghost with the affliction and oppress ability to deal double damage and prevent it from healing. I need a healing card so I use albatross, I picked sand worm as my backline with the sneak ability so as to attack from the back.

Round

Seeing the opponent formation, I knew what the result might be, I saw some level 1 cards among his setup and also it wasnt well organised putting squid as a frontline and demented shark next is totally wrong, I was able to destroy two of his monster card before round 2 while i still have my 6 cards intact.

In round 2, he destroy my sand worm while i kill two more of his card leaving him with a ranger card as a frontline and a melee card

And I won with only one card destroyed. It was a flawless victory.
