RE: βNo Worries Honey Iβve Got This!βπ My Actifit Report Card: December 11 2025

I'm glad to hear that the rain stopped, and that the river receded a bit. Why on earth did they build towns in these low-elevation locations that seem so prone to flooding? That's a rhetorical question. May the river keep receding, and may the sun shine! πππβ¨π€

I am just very thankful that when we moved here over 25 years ago, we did not buy a home in the valley!π
They say itβs the least expensive place to purchase a home in these two towns, I can see whyβ¦..π
That was excellent foresight on your part, my friend, and indeed, having your home periodically inundated makes it far more hassle than it's worth. πππβ¨π€
Definitely my friend.... just helping with the clean up of the Optical shop, quickly made me realize how thankful I am to be living up in the hills!!ππ
No doubt! Just imagine having to do that in your house every few years! πππβ¨π€
I grew up in Cincinnati the lower sections of the city flooded all the timeβ¦π
If I lived in a low lying place like that, I would sell my house and move!
Oh wow, I had no idea that areas of Cincinnati flooded so regularly, and indeed, ditto that, and very quickly! πππβ¨π€
You would think they would figure out some way to control the flooding on the Ohio river, but unfortunately it is very common for it to flood the lower sections of the city. They actually have gates at the city airport ( Lunken Airport ) that they can close if needed to block the flood waters from the river. I earned my Private Pilot License at that Airport, and fortunately never had to worry about flooding while I was living in Cincinnati!ππ π
Indeed you would, and it's so curious that so many cities, some quite large, have issues like this with periodic flooding. It would seem that city resources are not being allocated very effectively. See, the airport figured out a way! That's awesome, Mike, and it's also great that you didn't have direct experience of flooding! πππβ¨π€
I am hearing talk of the army core of engineers meeting with city planners, maybe they can figure out a solution going forward!ππ
