The day I discovered it!!

When I saw the word "EUREKA" I was dumbstruck because I had already written a story which I was about to publish earlier before @calumam presented to us the winners of last week and the for this week. I had a low battery so I couldn't publish the story that day till my phone was fully charged, not until I stumbled on the word of the week to be "EUREKA".

The first time I heard of the word was in one of my JAMB(joint admission and matriculation board) classes. I had enrolled for the classes a year ago because I wanted to sit for the exams and in one of the classes my teacher mentioned the word "EUREKA" and made a lot of emphasis on it.
It was an English class and he was teaching us on how to arrive at the right answer when answering a comprehension passage question.

He first explained that "EUREKA" is a word in the German language which means "I found it". I was super excited that day to at least learn a German word. When I went home I enthusiastically looked for my mom's earring which she had misplaced just so I could have an opportunity to use the word "EUREKA" lol.
My teacher used this word to explain something further to us where he put it as the "EUREKA MODEL" he told every candidate present there that there definitely would be cunning questions waiting for us at the end of every comprehension passage which was compulsory we attempted all if we really wanted to come out with good grades. He further explained that answers to comprehension passages questions are not variable; only one must be completely right. Having read and re-read the passage we in no doubt should have understood the passage. He told us that the "eureka model" as he called it provides that our answer will be the examiner's answer if truly we "found it".
He didn't leave us half way but gave us hints to "finding it". Everything is just super fresh in my memories as if I attended the classes just yesterday or there was a screen right in front of my face playing his every word from that day.
A simple method to finding our answer in any passage was this;
One which was pointers or facts from the passage to mean what the option which we have chosen stands for.
Two which were facts that can be interpreted from facts of the passage to mean what the option which we have chosen stands for.

With this simple eureka model method I tell you that my comprehension passages as at when I wrote that examination were in trouble because I bursted them and I sure did make good grades. I'm an English student who doesn't take English words for fun. That is why this particular word "EUREKA" has refused to lose it's standard in my head and brain as a whole

Wow! Teaching in school is general thing but learning is a personal thing in life. I believe you are enjoying your studies and one day you will also teach someone like your JAMB teacher did

Good to know you got a good grade because you've understood vividly what eureka means from the lecture. Each day we're presented with new words and I know how it feels to learn something new in classes. Good post there

I like the way you present the word Eureka as a model that help in finding answer to a question that will likely be the same answer the teacher needs.
