Shaja, 35, lives in the Kannur district of the southern state of Kerala, India, and has a manly moustache. About five years ago, when the hair began to grow into a thick moustache, Shaja happily decided to keep it. And now she is living a married life with this moustache. Many people advised her to get it cleaned but she refused. "I never felt that I wasn't beautiful because of it or that it was something that shouldn't be," she says.

At the time of puberty, the hormone called testosterone increases in the body of boys, due to which many changes begin to occur in the body of boys - where the genitals of boys begin to stand out, they begin to grow beards and mustaches on their mouths.

But sometimes some women also grow mustache and beard. Androgens that give rise to secondary sex roles... Androgens cause the growth of body and facial hair in women, but estrogen (female hormone) has its effect. In women, facial hair occurs due to higher than normal ranges of the hormones androgen and testosterone. All women have androgens, but their levels are usually low. Some medical conditions cause women to produce more of the hormone androgen, which causes them to develop facial hair.
It can also be hereditary.

But on the other hand, men have testosterone as well as androgens, this testosterone increases its effectiveness instead of inhibiting androgens like women... which causes body and facial hair to grow rapidly in men.
