Fifteen Minutes Till Sundown!😎
Silvertop got started hiking way too late today!😲
If you are out hiking in the Mountains, and the Sun is setting. I have an easy way to calculate how much time you have left before sundown!😊
You simply hold up your fingers horizontally to the horizon. Each fingers height between the bottom of the setting Sun, and the horizon represents approximately 15 minutes before sundown.
One finger between the horizon and the Sun ………..15 minutes
Two fingers approximately 30 minutes, and so on!😊
Silvertop was out pick axing the trench across the driveway for the electrical conduit today……….
Did I say pick axing……😅
Solid packed rock my friends, don’t try this at home Lol!🤣
I was only able to pick a trench halfway across the driveway, I was running out of daylight!👀
I was missing a few conduit couplings anyway, so I called it for today.
I still had time to get in a hike!😇
Phoenix was being a lazy girl, she was snuggled in her warm blanket, so I decided it was just Silvertop for today!
When I reached the ridge top I saw this beautiful orange sunset that you see in the first photo!😊
“ It looks like I started too late today!”😲
I held up several fingers to check how much time I had before sundown……
One finger…………..
Hmmm……………
I was on top of the ridge, at least “thirty” minutes out!😮
Time to head back, Silvertop didn’t bring a flashlight!👀
Lesson learned my friends, always pack a flashlight!😇
I hope my son hiking in the hills in Hungary has a flashlight Lol, check out the last two photos!🥰
