My Actifit Report Card: June 1 2022
“I have something for you to do for me today Silvertop!”🥰
Hmmm………….
Liz spotted a couple of wild growing plants on the side of our road last Fall, and she put these on Silvertop’s “ honeydew” list!🥰
Time slipped by, and they were forgotten during the Winter.
Now that the first plant, a wild Columbine, is in full bloom, the Mrs said……
“Silvertop , can you dig these up for me?!”🥰
Today was the day, I hiked up our road with a 1943 Army shovel, and knee pads on.
Two of my neighbors stopped as they drove by…………
“Why are you hiking with knee pads and a shovel Silvertop Lol!”🤣
“You never know what you might encounter in the mountains…….just being prepared Lol!😇🤣
The first plant a Columbine was across from David at the tiny house.
His Father owns a nursery, so after I explained, he was glad I was saving these plants.
Sometime in July they are repaving our road, and any plant on the side would be lost.
Another neighbor stopped as she was driving by…..
“Silvertop I always see this Columbine as I drive past, so very nice that you are digging it up for Liz!”🤗
One plant down……..😅
Up near the top of our road, on a curve, deep in the fast growing grass, Liz found a baby Japanese red Maple!😊
I checked for cars coming around the bend and quickly dig up the beautiful little tree!
Back home with both plants, it was lunchtime, and Latte time!
More chores to do, and maybe a short hike later I checked the clock.
It was 2:30 PM, and then I heard that sound………..🤔
It was raining, actually pouring, and the forecast was zero rain today Lol!🤣
Well Liz, and the plants will be happy!🥰

Thank you honey! I've waited 3 plus years for the Columbine and 2 years for the Japanese Maple. It would have been a shame to lose them to the lawnmower man or the road crew. Now they will be happy and grow up to be big and strong!🤗😘💞

A delightful small tree with gracefully branched stems that hold beautiful, palmate, red-purple leaves.... that red leaf maple tree is $150 minimum here!

Liz has been after me to dig this little tree up for a long time @silversaver888 !
In the Fall it lost it's leaves, and I could not find it. I was so very glad this Spring when I saw the purple leaves. Liz wants to plant it this weekend!!🤗
