RE: Try it First

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Trying new things is always good, but some people just take it to extreme levels.

You can overdo almost anything, it doesn't have to be drugs and alcohol alone; eating too much, working for too long and burning yourself out, even workouts that last a few hours or lifting too heavy. And what you said is also correct...

You don’t have to try everything before you know what's good for you and what isn't.

Some of it just requires common sense and a bit of control to understand if it's really beneficial for you, or if it is harmful for you and your lifestyle, your future.

I've been around a few of my friends who did a fair amount of drugs and alcohol; one day after the other, sometimes weekly, but I only had the guts to just get a puff or maybe a sip or two, other than that I just indulged in all of it passively, which didn't inflict much damage I'd say.

Thing is, I knew what I wanted, how I wanted to live my life and what I wanted to put in my body. So, the temptation of being "cool" and popular, a part of "the gang" was never an option; I'd rather go solo than try the things I don't understand and don't need to understand.

Everything you've said is absolutely right brother. At the end of the day, it all boils down to common sense and what you want for yourself. No one should allow themselves to be pressured by others into doing something they don't want to do.
