We were considering getting chickens (still are) just because we eat so many eggs! I'm sorry egg prices are going up where you are, I hope they come down soon.

Same in my country (in Hungary) too. I checked the local egg prices, and currently the cheapest 12 eggs are around $2.21 USD in the Auchan supermarkets/hypermarkets. Compared to the $0.50 USD price, this is very expensive.
