Helping People

Earlier today, I had stumbled on @zanoz post where she talked about a friend who was going through some hard times (financially) and how she felt compelled to help this friend by introducing this friend to hive but it turns out her friend doesn’t have a device and the whole thing made me remember two people I introduced to hive.

I had introduced two of my close female friends to this platform because of how often I noticed they complained of not having basic things like money for data subscriptions and the likes. At first I had refused to say anything hive related to them because I felt they might not be up for the task but seeing how they wasted most of their time on Facebook doing literally nothing, I had decided to offer my assistance.

I had opened a hive account for both ladies (both accounts are currently dormant and probably filled with dust now 😅) and had even offered to help them start. I helped with their introductory post and had offered to help them write stories, all they had to do was come up with an idea and I would help develop it, it was literally that simple.

They both were hyped up about the whole thing for like a week and when the money wasn’t flowing in like they thought it would, they all went back to Facebook. I tried for a couple of days to get them to come back but when I realized that they were comfortable with asking guys for money online, I had decided to let them be.

After that experience, I had come to the conclusion that not everyone can be helped. You can show them the way and even offer to hold their hands and help them walk until they can walk on their own, and they still would give up along the way.

I think the best we can do is try and when it obvious that they aren’t for a change, we let them be and not let them drag us down with them.
