The road to financial freedom

Not so long ago, I think about two years ago, my Steem account was worth a mere 2000 USD. Today my Hive account is worth about 16000 USD. Not counting in my Hive Engine tokens, that means that in crypto things can turn around for the good pretty damn fast. And I intend not to stop here. My account is growing with about 250 HP per month, sometimes even faster. And the bigger my stack will get, the bigger my curation rewards will become, so that growth will grow too. The snowball you know...

Now, this weekend, while I was riding my race bicycle, I was thinking about what I want to achieve with all this. And it became clear to me. It is all about financial freedom. So, I thought, what would make me really content. And then I calculated a bit in my head, and I said to myself. A 1000 USD per month, and still being able to keep my account growing would be pretty neat. I will explain that a little further.

• First of all, a 1000 USD power down every month, for extra income to live with. This can also be filled with HBD interests...
• Second, I don't want to dry up the source, so the "well" has to stay at least stable, in my case, I would want a small growth every single month. For instance 100 to 250 HP. Because I want my stack to keep on growing. So my income keeps growing every month.
• This all of course in case Hive price stays where it is, if Hive falls further, which I do not expect, I will have to change my plan. If Hive shoots up, well, then the sky is the limit.

What HP do I need for that?

I made some calculations, and right now, my 17K Hive Power, that I use to curate brings me in about 100 HP per month in curation. Posting brings me in about 150 HP. Knowing that the bigger your account is, the bigger your posting rewards get. I calculated that about 80K HP would bring me in the position I was thinking about on my bike. So, there is still a long way to go. But it surely is not impossible. Especially now with the airdrops that are going on, and the interest on HBD. Which is an amazing opportunity to create some more Hive Power with some of the interests. So, I put my goal for about 25 to 30K HP by the end of the year, which is ambitious, but surely possible. From then on, I should be able to create 200 to 250 curation rewards per month. And hopefully around 250 HP posting rewards. I also intend to have about 3 to 4000 HBD in my savings account by the end of the year. Which would yield me about 60 HBD per month too. And that is all without Hive Engine earnings.

In my opinion, in the ideal scenario, with the sale of some of the airdrops, I should be able to get to 80k HP in about 2 years from now. And that would be the time from which I could start powering down some HP every month for some extra living expenses... Because, HODLing is all fine, but we have to enjoy life too! ;-)

We'll see where we get, but I think I have a decent plan here!
