Horrible accident

This story I am going to tell is not for the faint hearted. People I know were on a trip through South-Africa when on July 31st disaster struck. Someone with a massive SUV went over to their driving lane and crashed into their rental car with high speed. The husband broke just about every bone on his left side, his wife shattered her knee, their 14 year old son got internal bleeding and needed two operations on his liver. But the worst is yet to come, their 12 year old daughter Lilou, who was a major gymnastics prodigy got a complete spinal cord rupture and is paralysed for the rest of her life.

Devastating news, very hard to swallow but the truth. They are still in a hospital in Johannesburg right now, but if everything goes well, they will come back home next week.
What should have been a dream holiday, turned into complete horror.

Crowdfunding runs incredibly well

Today the crowdfunding for them was started by a few friends. As they need a massive amount of money for a wheelchair and adaptations to their house, to make it wheelchair friendly.
In a matter of hours, almost 3000 USD was brought in of the goal of 50k $.
This completely baffled me, it is the new and true social security. People with true needs get helped very fast. With all possible ways, fiat or crypto.

I truely have faith in this world again!
