Steps Through the Fog – When My Sinuses Took Over the Day

5,794 steps – that’s how much I managed today before my body firmly said, “Enough!” The day started with a visit to the doctor because something just didn’t feel right… and it turns out I was right to trust my instincts. Diagnosis: sinus and ear infection. The doctor, who already knows me and my recurring battles, prescribed my favorite steroid (yes, I have one) along with a few other trusted meds. She knew that when I crash, I crash hard.

After getting back home, I didn’t fight it. I crawled into bed and… drifted off. A two-hour nap – a luxury my body took without asking. And I’m glad it did. My body temperature is doing its own thing – jumping from 35°C to 37.5°C like it’s confused about what’s going on.

This weekend is all about recovery. No pressure, no rushing. Even food is getting a bit of a pass – because right now, it’s not about control, it’s about balance. My coworkers are holding the fort at work with a smaller team, but in my current state, I’d probably do more harm than good, so I’m giving myself permission to completely reset.

Those 5,794 steps? Mostly thanks to the trip to the clinic. Other than that: bed, blanket, calm, and tea. Promise to the doctor? Kept.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do is stop. Today, I did exactly that.

5794 kroki – tyle udało mi się dziś zrobić, zanim moje ciało powiedziało stanowcze: "Dość!". Dzień zaczęłam od wizyty u lekarza, bo coś nie dawało mi spokoju… i słusznie. Diagnoza: zapalenie zatok i ucha. Pani doktor, znająca mnie już z niejednego nawrotu, sięgnęła po mój ulubiony steryd i dołożyła kilka sprawdzonych leków. Wiedziała, że jak już padam, to na całego.

Po powrocie do domu – bez walki. Wskoczyłam do łóżka i… odpłynęłam. Dwie godziny drzemki to luksus, który moje ciało wzięło bez pytania. I dobrze. Temperatura szaleje – raz 35°C, raz 37.5°C – jakby mój organizm sam nie wiedział, w jakim stanie się znajduje.

Weekend mam zamiar spędzić regeneracyjnie. Zero presji, zero gonitwy. Nawet jedzenie traktuję z większą wyrozumiałością – teraz nie dieta, a równowaga jest najważniejsza. Dziewczyny w pracy walczą w osłabionym składzie, ale w tym stanie więcej bym im przeszkadzała niż pomogła, więc daję sobie zgodę na totalny reset.

Te 5794 kroki zrobiłam głównie dzięki wyprawie do przychodni – poza tym: łóżko, koc, spokój i herbata. Obietnica dana lekarce? Spełniona. Czasem najlepsze, co możemy zrobić, to się zatrzymać. Dziś właśnie to zrobiłam.
