On seeing your title I felt it the same as your friend had spoken to you as if you are referring me to try first and then make the judgment call, I was also getting prepared with the counterattacks you had just mentioned. Alas! You already spoke what I wanted to.
Some things can be tried first to get the experience but when enough valid data is available then there is no need for further experiments. When I know it's a bottle of poison used to kill someone then there is no way that I will be tasting myself to check if it works for real or not. If your friend was mine then I would have surely asked him to try poison to be sure if it really works or not, trap him with his own shitty logic, hehehe joking.
When you knew that too much consumption of Alcohol might get you drunk, you shouldn't have gone for it. Well, it's good to see you have good control over yourself to skip it and get away from that addiction.

Yeah this is another good example and I'm kind of sad I never said this to him because that would have shut him up.
Yeah I know. Definitely one of the reason why I no longer succumb to peer pressure anymore.. But like you said, good thing I stopped on time and never got addicted to it.
