Back to night running

I just finished a 12.319km running that lasted about 0hh:59mm:00ss !

The day was really sunny this Sunday (cover photo mid afternoon), but I wasn't the most efficient during the day and ended up deciding to keep the daylight for long walks with the dogs and other activities, and go back to a more usual night run. With the extra rest day due to rain, my legs were pretty good, my stomach was okay (it's been bothering me often the past few weeks), and overall I felt okay. So, I thought it was a good day to increase the mileage a bit, while not trying to reach any specific pace. I even wore my 'comfy' running shoes, so really I wasn't going for pace. Like I said in the past, they are heavy and just too comfortable, making them kind of unresponsive. Anyways, in the end, it's a little over 7.5 miles in just under one hour. A bit slow-ish, but the distance is more than I hoped, so it's all good.

Just when I started, I was telling myself I hadn't seen too much wildlife recently during my runs. Today corrected that trend! Of course, dozen of deer, including a big group crossing a street just in front of me. I could have pretty much touched the last one. A few rabbits too. A bat flew by but didn't get too close. And finally a skunk, I know I am repeating myself, but damn these things scare me... Speaking of scaring me, a loose dog in a front yard really scared me for a minute, but luckily he decided I wasn't worth chasing beyond his yard.

That's 77km this month, I should be able to get at least 110km, still less than what I usually hope for, but more than the last few months. That's good news in preparation for my 10k race in less than 3 weeks now.
Keep on running!
