My Actifit Report Card: July 20 2023

Hey Actifitters,

Yesterday weather was a bit strange. It started nice and sunny, but once again I didn't get up early enough for a walk with Kaia before work. Early in the afternoon, it completely changed. For once, the forecast was pretty accurate. It quickly became very dark, and the clouds very menacing.

The storm was indeed severe. We didn't get hail though unlike some other areas in the vicinity. But it was short luckily, and soon after the sun was back as if no storm had happened! Except slightly wet roads and pathways.

Of course, we quickly went to the forest to enjoy the cooler temperatures brought by the storm.

There we did see signs of the storm. Many branches and trees were down.

Of course Kaia had to investigate.

But we also went deeper in the forest.

Maybe because of the storm, there was so many mosquitoes. I got bitten at least a dozen times, but even Kaia was under attack!

More signs of the storm. Well at least I think it's because of the storm, because for sure the day before that tree wasn't like that. I had Kaia stay next to it for a size reference. That's a big one!

Maybe you remember a few days ago I showed these strange white plants. A few people explained what it was: Indian ghost pipes. Well, it was true: they have a very short lifespan, about a week. They're all gone now, except this very last one.

The deer on the other hand are not gone, still plenty of them in the forest. But they kept their distance this time.

We kept walking the trails for quite some time. The longer we walk, the closest from the ground Kaia's tongue gets...

It was time to head back home because I had yet another late afternoon meeting. This was unfortunate because the early sunset was promising.

Finally, after my meeting and long after nightfall, we went for another walk in the neighborhood so I could get the steps I was missing to pass the bar in #poprzecka.
