My Actifit Report Card: June 15 2023
Hey Actifitters,
Yesterday was rainy and stormy, so late afternoon, when we started our long walk with Kaia, I was surprised to catch glimpses of the sun through the trees. So instead of going first to the forest, we headed West to check out a possible sunset.
It was very nice but also short because the sun quickly disappeared behind a thick haze, or maybe just clouds, not sure.
We still had some daylight though, so we rushed to the forest. It was very misty there. Not very visible on the photos, but it made everything look a bit eerie.
It was of course muddy on the trails, but surprisingly not as wet as the day before.
Kaia is still facing these hip or back legs issues. I need to do something about it again, but I don't like giving her anti-inflammatory every day. At least, the vet tells me there is no need to stop the long walks.
In the evening, I didn't feel well at all. Not sure what happened. It was bad enough that I was in bed by 1am, which is very early for me. Today was better, so it was probably nothing serious.

Yeah, it was pretty impressive how fast the sun was fully engulfed by this haze. I don't think it's from the Canadian wildfires this time, but it is indeed kinda strange.
Kaia's a soldier, she should be fine.

That haze sure is odd, but the sun looks beautiful regardless. I love the contrast in colors in rainy-day shots! It's so lovely! Most shepherds I've known have had hip issues, so it seems to be something in that line. There are suppliments which can help, like MSM. I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better too @manuvert! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
Yeah, it's unfortunately quite common for German Shepherds, but usually not too much for straight back GSDs like Kaia and Genepi. She eats mostly raw meat/bone mix, including sometimes turkey necks treats rich in glucosamine and stuff, so she really doesn't need any more supplements. I may have to see the vet again though if it gets any worse.
