The Stone Wedding and around, with twenty visuals ;)

I've been checking earlier today what stories are there on the @pinmapple map and I've noticed there is not any pin on The Stone Wedding, or Kamenna Svatba (Каменна Сватба) as we say it in Bulgarian. Interesting fact is there isn't any English version in Wikipedia about that. However you could easily use online translation services and read some more info, if you are interested from here: https://bg.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%9A%D1%8A%D1%80%D0%B4%D0%B6%D0%B0%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B9%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8_%D0%BF%D0%B8%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%BC%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B8

Why is the rock formation called like that? You will see the resemblance from some of my photos below. By the way, if you wonder why the colors are so vivid and saturated, it isn't Photoshop. I used a quality CPL filter with a good lens ;) CPL that stands for polarizing, similar to the quality sunglasses we wear sometimes :)

I put a pin on the map where it is best to go with your car, there is a limited space to park there, but 3-4 cars would fit without any issue. Wear proper tourist shoes as there is a narrow forest track and it has steep parts, some of them could be quite wet and slippery.

If you find yourself anywhere near this magical place, pay it a visit. All the rocks from that formation are very very soft and crumbly. I suppose in the foreseeable future some of the features will be gone due to the rains and the hot summer sun and freezing winter temperatures.

Here are the bride and the groom from one point of view:

Now do you see the angel coming upon them? :)

The whole area is very beautiful for walks, we've enjoyed spending a lot of time there:

Walking and hiking among those beautiful white rocks is amazing:

Few steps sideways, and it is a completely different picture:

Here again, the groom and the bride :)

DDH_3849.jpg

All kind of shapes and forms. Complimentary warm near-white colors. Actually, pretty pleasant to touch.

I've made almost a complete wedding photo shoot of the young couple, LMAO :)

Vertical and horizontal portraits :D

DDH_3852.jpg

My favorite technique with sun light diffraction ;)

If you turn around, that's some of the views in the area. There are places suitable for picnic as well ;)

Here is a wider view but again the lens cannot fit all the amazing rocks that Mother Nature put in this stunning composition:

Another view, this time to the East:

DDH_3860.jpg

Yep, sun light upon us. How blessed we were :)

DDH_3861.jpg

You could see the groom waving here ;)

DDH_3863.jpg

And here is a view from below them. See the surrounding oak trees for scale.

DDH_3878.jpg

If you walk a couple of minutes to the left of these rocks, there is another beautiful formation, with a small cave to the right, you may see the entrance in the shape of a nail:

DDH_3891.jpg

I've been there more than a couple of times yet on every new visit I spend at least few hours. Those shapes shift noticeably. The hidden marvels of Old Europe...

Have a lovely Sunday!

Seems like an awesome place.
It reminds me a bit of Goblins Valley State Park in Utah.

Stunning place, I've never been there, I mean the Goblins Valley State Park of course, hehee. (I've been only in NY and NJ so far) but I searched it online. I see the resemblance, the name makes sense too :)
I love the desert feel, the rocks there look like sculptures.

Thank you! :)

It's almost like those rocks were placed like that! Like a giant's back garden decor. Nature can be mind boggling!
