What is the Future of POB?
I have always said that the DPOS governance model is the perfect self-destruct formula for any project governed by it. POB once again proves this to me.
The governance model in Blockchain DPOS perfectly simulates what our current society would be like, where whoever has more decision-making power over others commands and dismantles, the formation of monopolies is a constant and the concentration of power is the rule.
Power and Money are two things that I believe human beings are never prepared to deal with. The "crocodile" side of our brain (reptilian or what corresponds to our greedy and evil side) is always activated in the face of these two things, and good thing we can't wait.
DPOS governance is self-destructive because whoever has the most power can do whatever he wants, because no one can stop him. It's the story of: "UNLIMITED POWER!".
Following this narrative, I followed in recent days a bullshit among the people who have power here at POB. Such "flag wars", "mute" of some users who denounced about the flawed economic model of this tribe and what all this unfolded.
This is nothing new for me. These self-destructive discussions and events are common in projects governed by DPOS governance. That's how it happened, for example, the split at Steem x Hive. The tribes follow the same governance and that's why I don't feed any love for tokens/tribes here because I know that one day as we say here in Brazil: "Shit will come!".
Those who run these projects mostly have good intentions (or not), but are never prepared for criticism or questioning from people who think more than they do. This is perhaps a diagnosis of immaturity, and it is.
Not only that, those who often criticize a project here do not know how to speak, and this can seem (and is) outrageous. Immaturity also often of those who denounce.
Both sides are wrong.
We are left in a dilemma, especially for us who just want to have a place where we can post our content in peace and be rewarded for it. This greatly destabilizes the environment, which makes many "jump ship". It's bad even not just for the tribe, but for the currency behind the tribe, the Hive.
These guys should have and leave these issues, ego fights and wars between them. Exposing it all here can trigger a destructive ripple effect, everyone is affected.

I think that one of the core problems that caused this issue, is that money is a incomplete / failed representation of value. One that has since just been accepted, even when we see glaring issues of how it fails to measure the true value of things, and more importantly actions.
Most people have been trained since they were young to think in monetary value, rather than conscious value. Just look at how most people respond to a kid when they say what they want to be when they grow up, suggesting they be something that makes more money, if they don't pick something with a promising career behind it.
That all being said, i think crypto is the closest thing we've had to a change in the concept of value. Sure at the moment most people are directing most of that attention to meme coins with dogs on them, but it shows how much PAYING attention to something can translate to value. So next thing we need to do is build a system to better measure value, so that we can get rewarded for doing the right things, rather than the selfish thing.
The concept of value is quite broad. With regard to crypto, in addition to the issue of technology or problem solving in real life, the (monetary) value is what makes people attracted, it is what makes it important in society, because people see that is possible to make a living from it. .
