Behavior Shows True Sentiment Towards the Government

While there are anti-government moments raging against the system, the majority of people in the United States show an amazing willingness to submit to governmental demands and obey unreasonable decrees. Most people will deny it, they will say "I don't trust the government", but when it comes down to conformity, most will get in line.

Why do some people (especially older people) treat the US government as some sort of Deity?

The National Anthem Played Every Night

As Television watchers became sleepy, around 12:00 AM the networks signed off by playing the National Anthem. "Oh Say Can You See..."

As the lyrics appear on the screen, subliminal messages appear in the transition so quickly that the viewer could not see it without slowing down the video. Even though the viewer could not "read" the text, the human mind is imprinted with these words and concepts.

What effect would this have on people who are in a drowsy state? Do they discover an unknown religious zeal for the trustworthiness of government? Do they find themselves treating the STATE as a form of Deity? Suddenly believing that everything the government says is unquestionably true?
