It's been quite a day!

We got the bus started!!!! After removing the old starter (after much effort) I called it a night. Today, I got the new starter installed where the old one was and connected all the bolts and wires.

Through the opening, I can see the gear that starts the vehicle. And the three large bolts that secure the starter in place.

One of the trickier parts was splicing the old wire into the new starter. The wires were too large to fit in the little connector. The wire is supposed to fit in snuggley, then crimped down. Jamming all those copper wires into the tube took some time and effort and patience.

After reconnecting the battery, I turned the key. I heard it turn over before clicking. This means the starter is working! I just need to jump the battery and we're good!

I plugged in the battery for a jump and turned the key.

VROOOOM!!!!!!! We have a functioning engine again! Horrrayy!
