We Are Alive! November 10th, 2022 Applesauce!

After our trip to the orchard, we have bags and bags of apples. So let's get making some apple sauce!

After inspecting and washing the apples, we chop them into quarters and put them in the pot. Skins, seeds, stems, cores - everything!

My boy scoops up the mushy apples and puts them in the mill. The taste-testers do their job well too.

They crank the mill and a delicious waterfall of hot sweet applesauce flows down into the bowl.

Yummy apple sauce is cooling down, getting ready to be canned the next day.

We have enough applesauce to fill at least a dozen mason jars - that is almost a years supply for us, if we are careful to use it sparingly.

Our taste-tester had a turn at the crank, she was so happy to help make apple sauce.

It really was a group effort and the family all chipped in on this project making it go very quickly and easily.

The end result is a big bowl of applesauce, everything left that wasn't taste tested!
