Sold some sachet water packs to some guys who go around buying them to sell to recycling companies. It’s not something that will make you rich but it’s better than burning it or throwing it just anywhere at all. Sold for 4$ for a big bag full of plastic waste.

$4... how much does it cost on average, would you say, to buy food for the week where you are?

One meal will cost 1.5$ average so if it’s 3 times a day, it will be 31.5$ a week. If you cook, probably around 20$ a week

In USA average meal is like 5-8 bucks a day if your a bachelor who budgets.

Considering that the minimum daily wage here is 1.8$, food is pretty expensive here. Unless you decide to eat according to your wallet size.
