Wow! Jackpot at Grandpa's house! This was certainly unexpected by me. Transexual nymphs. Oh, the pictures my mind is conjuring up. Yikes!
Looks like a cottage in the woods and I love when the overgrowth takes over and becomes part of the landscape. I actually disagree with your statement that it didn't look in the least photogenic from the outside... You certainly photographed it in a way that made it look more than interesting, even with an artistic slant. I loved it at first sight. I like the helping stool? Piece of wood? Whatever boosted them into that window, only to find the door wide open! :))
It makes me wonder why anyone would leave not one but two pianos there when they could have been sold or even donated to a rest home, or school. Someplace that could make good use of them. Oh! That reel to reel! I remember my grandfather thought his battered reel to reel was a prize! I couldn't only think how cumbersome something like that was. Those other explorers like leaving their little stickers so the police can round them up for trespassing? Rules of the Road: Leave no evidence behind. There is so much to take in here! Almost like a time capsule without the container, isn't it? The newspapers kept, Grandpa was a packrat! Thank Goodness some people were! My grandmother and then my mother after here would keep those Danish butter cookie tins and put sewing notions in them. Sheet music! I love old sheet music, ewwww! Rat bites. Oh, Ewwww!Although, the conservatory looked to be in good condition, as was the furniture, of a newer style I would say.
I was hoping you would give me a peek inside the wardrobe. I bought a few nice ones when I lived over there, I still love them. Did you look in there? Obviously, not a cleaner, was he? Premium bonds? In 2002? I wonder if Grandpa had a grandchild that he was responsible for? The bike, the school papers...Perhaps a girl, looking at those fancy beribboned envelopes. Oh! Pre-decimal? Legendary. I have to say that this was a pretty awesome find! From beginning to end, I could do it again... easily. Thank you!
I didn't look in the wardrobe, who knows what could have jumped out and molested me, this is Wales!
Trespass is not criminal here, so the cops wont do anything, besides yawn loudly.
One day I will find a proper piano that works and is out of earshot. I miss playing, loved it in the 90's. I came across another today (was out again exploring), but the keys were mostly stuck. I couldn't get a full chord out of it.. bummer.
Haha! That is true! It is Wales! :))
I actually didn't know that it wasn't criminal there. Seriously. Good for you, not having to worry about more than a yawn. You play the piano? Oh, sweet Jesus! That is like a chick magnet. Good thing you are married.Any guy that can go to a party (especially Christmas) and plunk out a tune... I hope you find one and that you record it. You have no cajones if you don't. That would make a $500 post. :)
I was never very good and learned by ear and not the correct way. I still have an old Roland keyboard in the house, not one of those shitty ones, a gigging one. No space to set it up now.. and its slightly faulty. One day..
Today! One day never comes, you know that as well as I do. :)
My great grandfather played by ear and when my great grandmother passed, he moved into senior housing as he didn't want to live with us (we had nine kids) LOL I remember that he used to go down to the atrium and play and all the old ladies were like magnets on him. OMG... I think they actually swooned. LOL
@bingbabe may not approve. Leave it in the garage.
