Learning From Apostle Peter.

We have read the story countless times of how apostle Peter denied Jesus Christ many times. Some were so quick to judge him and why after he has been told by Jesus that he is going to betray him. Why did he still have to do that.

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, Peter—this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.”
Matt 26:34 (kjv)

Well, the answers to that question lies in the bible. I just want to point to some lessons we all can learn from backsliding, retribution and many salient point that help in the total transformation and salvation of the soul of man.

Peter Cried.

69 Meanwhile, Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard. A servant girl came over and said to him, “You were one of those with Jesus the Galilean.”

70 But Peter denied it in front of everyone. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said.

71 Later, out by the gate, another servant girl noticed him and said to those standing around, “This man was with Jesus of Nazareth.[k]”

72 Again Peter denied it, this time with an oath. “I don’t even know the man,” he said.

73 A little later some of the other bystanders came over to Peter and said, “You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent.”

74 Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed.

75 Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind:.........
John 26 :69-75a

The cry of Peter was just an ordinary one, it was a cry for repentance. A cry to show God he has failed in following Christ, whom he is he meant to follow all his life.

This also applies to a Christian on this journey to the eternal home. Whenever you notice you're getting far away from your creator, far away from the WORD. Get on your knees and cry to God, and be sincere about it. He is ready to help those in need.

Christ Has Prayed For Peter

But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Luke 22:32

Jesus has seen that Peter will need an intercessor to hold his future together. That is why JESUS prayed for him.

We, as Christian must know this too that Christ has prayed for us all. Our redemption in him is complete. The whole salvation of humanity is incomplete without the prayer of Jesus at gethsemane. His prayers hold the weak and make them strong. His prayers helps the helpless and hive them hope for a better life.

When a backsliding brother know this, he is assured that he can get back on his feet and still get the joy of salvation.
