I always forget how extremely southwest Cincinnati is in Ohio. This is where Alec played with fellow top NFL draft prospect, QB Desmond Ridder.

A superstar wide receiver is always something NFL teams would love to have. A phenomenal wide receiver can be the core piece to an offense and make an average quarterback look elite. Star receivers can come in all shapes and sizes. But it's generally agreed upon that a team finds their 'big' receiver, and Cincinnati's Alec Pierce seems like he could be a team's big body red-zone threat, and perhaps more. The most legendary NFL receivers EVER were generally pretty tall.

Alec Pierce is a big, fast, and strong receiver that actually PLAYS big. His highlight tape is pretty consistently ridiculous in my opinion. It was clip after clip of Alec big brothering and bullying the defender. Just jumping up and grabbing passes from the sky. This style of receiver is just so fun to watch when done well, and at Cincinnati Alec played his role as a 'big' receiver well.

Pierce is a walking fifteen yard plus reception. He reminds me of Mike Evans/Mike Williams.

Pierce has dealt with injury a bit here and there, but overall he showed improvement throughout his four year college career.

Alec's tape looks fast and his speed was proven QUITE legit as he ran a 4.41 forty yard dash at the NFL combine.

Pierce turns 22 on May 2nd, so he has plenty of time to improve his skillset and be more well rounded. He is not the most explosive kid in terms of pure change of direction/acceleration and that sort of thing, but he can certainly perform adequately doing those things. But, with that being the case, at this point in time I'd say his route tree seems a little limited.

But still, there's so much to like with pierce. He's a solid choice if a team needs a prototypical big man receiver with great speed. Just a really solid prospect, a lot of upside. I love that he seems strong and plays physical. I think this guy is absolutely a gem in the rough.

What do you think of Alec Pierce's NFL future?
