Weird Blackened Quarter and Other Oddities

One fun thing about being out in the transactional world, is that I come across more change. Higher chances of finding interesting coins. This blackened quarter is very handsome, funny the front looks fine!

I also found this shredded dime.

All sorts of interesting patterns on this dime.

Also found a wheaty in my change, which are becoming more and more rare.

It's been fun finding these unique coins, even if they're not particularly valuable. Keeps things interesting!

If you have any ideas about the blackened quarter - why it's like that, I'd be happy to hear your thoughts.

Teach Your Children Liberty from Sin

We encourage parents to teach their children principles of Godliness, beginning with the Word and an understanding who God is and what His Son has done to form a relationship with us.

No one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, his workmanship will be evident, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will prove the quality of each man’s work. 1 Corinthians 3:11-13

Teach Your children Liberty from Tyranny

Second to this is the principle of self-determination and freedom, lest we loose the ability to teach our children the first principle in future generations.

Our children read the Tuttle Twin books, specifically to learn libertarian principles, which most people learn later in life. These books are useful for our family, and yours, to teach children concepts that seem complicated, but are made simple in these books.

I am an affiliate for Libertas Publishing, your purchase will help our family grow financially.

The "blackened" nature of the quarter is known as its patina; a sought after feature in numismatics.

Patina indeed! Much much patina... but only on one side of the coin! !BBH

Each coin has its own story. Would be interesting, if one novel can be written by a travelling coin, where it has been, what has it seen. I was trying to get my hands on some silver quarters, but they are hard to come by in change.

I wonder what the story is behind these coins. It's near impossible to find silver in change anymore. Still a lot of copper though! !BBH

I wonder if you bought those coins directly, or simply got them somewhere (as change), because you didn't mention on your post how you got those coins. 🤔🤓🤯😅 !WEIRD !INDEED !HOPE

Do you mean that someone gave you those coins as change for your (cash) payment somewhere sometime? 🤔🤯🤓 !HOPE !INDEED !PIZZA !HUG

You got it. Most people do not pay attention to unusual coins, I suppose I'm a little unusual. :-) !BBH

It's why I check those Coinstar change counting machines, always an interesting find when I do find some. Scored one silver 10 cents yet more than a few handful of foreign coins to study for the sheer fun of it.

There's a coinstar at the grocery store I shop at. I have to admit, I always glance where the coins dispense, I've found some fun coins there occasionally. !BBH

Very cool coins, Benjamin. I used to find wheaties all the time, and I always thought that they were special. That shredded dime is wild, especially the back, which make it look like a gold coin from the Roman Empire. Happy hunting, my friend! 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙
