Today I have made photos from the other side of the valley.

Heute habe ich Fotos von der anderen Talseite gemacht.

Zwickenberg - Scharnik
Kreuzeck group . Oberdrauburg . Carinthia

Correctly I would have to say that I took photos of the mountains on the other side of the valley.

Korrekterweise müsste ich sagen, ich habe Fotos von den Bergen auf der anders Seite des Tales gemacht.

I'm visiting my parents with my family this weekend and took a little walk through the forest behind the house today.

Ich bin dieses Wochenende mit meiner Familie bei meinen Eltern zu Besuch und habe heute einen kleinen Spaziergang durch den Wald hinter dem Haus gemacht.

The photos show the northern side of the Drau Valley above Oberdrauburg. The mountains are part of the Kreuzeck group with the Scharnik (2,655 m).

The village of Zwickenberg is located directly below the mountains at around 1,000 m above sea level.

Die Fotos zeigen die nördliche Seite des Drautales oberhalb von Oberdrauburg. Die Berge sind Teil der Kreuzeckgruppe mit dem Scharnik (2.655 m).

Direkt unterhab der Berge befindet sich das Dorf Zwickenberg auf etwa 1.000 m Seehöhe.

Very nice white mountains! They look like they have double wiped cream on top!!
This just makes me hungry! These snow capped mountains remind me of cream and ice cream!! Not good! I am supposed to be losing weight!

Good morning @suzana72, yes, on the mountains there is enough snow, but as you can see on the photos, below the mountains there is still no snow - you can see the grass meadows. It is getting colder now and I think it will be snowing soon here and also where you are 🙂

I have tried to shoot from the other side to this side today, but there have been some dangerous creatures which watched me and I had to flee ;)


I like the taste of !COFFEEA with cognac, but I have to drive my car later, and I am !DERANGED I know, but I prefer the !BEER from the !MARLIANS 😉

Zum Fotografieren ein Graus, weil blauer Himmel ist blau und sonst nix - da ist nichts Interessantes, obwohl es schön ist, aber ich will ja keine Postkartenfotos für den Tourismus machen ;)

Richtig, die sind schön mit blauem wolkenlosem Himmel, damit die Touristen kommen.
Wenn hinter oder über dem Berg zumindest ein paar Wolken sind, dann sind das keine Postkartenfotos mehr, sondern interessante Bilder ... aber natürlich sind sie schön, aber ein wolkenloser Himmel ist kein Fotografenwetter ;)

Na ja Du kannst Dir auch immer den richtigen Moment raus suchen. Touristen können das nicht, die sind roh wenn sie so blank geputzte Bilder bekommen.

Natürlich lebe ich hier und habe immer die Möglichkeit, wieder an einen Ort zu fahren, wenn das Wetter nicht passt.
Wenn ich mal daran denke, werde ich vielleicht eine Gegenüberstellung Postkartenfoto zu meiner Meinung nach gutem Foto machen - mal sehen ;)

Auch wenn ich irgendwo Tourist bin, versuche ich, mich nicht so zu benehmen, sondern so wie ich mich zu Hause auch benehme, nämlich korrekt und relativ nett ;)

Schönen guten Morgen Peter 🙂

Ich dachte da nicht an einen Schreibfehler, weil roh auch gepasst hätte - du musst nur mal an die bekannten Fotospots gehen - da wird gedrängelt und geschubst - manchmal auf die rohe Art 😉 Hallstatt zum Beispiel - da gibt es einen Fotospot, den die ganze Welt kennt. Ich habe mal ein Youtube Video gesehen, wie es dort zugeht - Menschenmassen drängeln sich, um das selbe Foto zu machen. Ich war dort noch nie, werde aber hinschauen und natürlich auch dieses Foto machen, falls ich mal zufällig in der Nähe sein sollte ;)

Ich gehe an solche Plätze zu frühmorgendlichen Zeiten, lange bevor der erste Tourist auch nur daran denkt, aufzustehen.

Dass die Menschen auch roh sein können, das weiß ich wohl. Meinte es aber in diesem Moment nichts so.
Von solchen Plätzen halte ich mich immer fern.Und vor allem ich muss nicht das gleiche Motiv aufnehmen welches andere schon Millionen Male aufgenommen und ins Netz gestellt haben.

Übrigens kann man ja heute alles so besuchen das man niemals selbst hinreisen muss. Es ist alles vorhanden. Auch eine Errungenschaft unseres Internets aus die ich nicht mehr verzichten möchte.

ich kann mir heute von fast Allem zumindest ein grobes, teilweise auch sehr detailliertes Bild von Allem machen.

Habe jetzt schon verstanden gehabt ;)
Es gibt gewisse Plätze, die will ich einfach irgendwann doch fotografieren und versuchen, die Fotos besser zu machen, oder anders als andere, so wie zum Beispiel den Pragser Wildsee in Südtirol (Lago di Braies). Dort sind täglich hunderte Touristen und sehr viele Fotografen. Alle machen das selbe Foto bzw dieselben Bilder. Ich wollte schon lange mal dorthin, aber die vielen Menschen schrecken mich ab, und die sind auch zu Sonnenaufgang schon dort :(
Mal sehen, was das Jahr 2020 so bringt :)

Google Earth ist super und ich schaue mir die meisten Plätze schon vorher darauf an und weiß dann oft schon sehr genau, was ich wo machen will ... meistens mache ich dann zwar etwas ganz anderes, aber egal ;)

Ja, ich verwende es eigentlich zum Großteil um zu sehen, wohin ich will und wie die Situation dort ist - Wege, Parkplätze, Aussichtspunkte - alles, was möglich ist. Wenn es dann noch 360-Grad-Videos oder Street View gibt, dann ist das optimal für mich :)

Das ist richtig - auf Google Maps findest du zu fast allen Orten 360-Grad Videos und ich schaue auch gerne Youtube Videos mit Wegbeschreibungen bei Wanderungen.

Wer macht das nicht?

Ist die beste Möglichkeit sich über Örtlichkeiten zu informieren.

Wie oft starte ich Google Earth und schau nach wie es an den Orten an denen ich mal zu Hause oder im Urlaub war heute aussieht.
Street View sei dank :) Und denen nochmals dank weil sie unsere Straße ausgelassen haben :D

Street view ist genial - super zum Urlaub planen, wenn man nicht weiß, wie genau man in einer Ortschaft die Unterkunft findet. So habe ich ganz easy unsere letzte Urlaubsunterkunft schon vorher gefunden inklusive Parkplatz :)

Sowas mache ich eigentlich nie - wenn, dann schaue ich, ob Google die Fotos von daheim oder schon erneuert hat, ist aber eine gute Idee - muss mal schauen, wie es jetzt bei der Verwandtschaft in Tirol ausschaut ;)

Geil finde ich, dass ich bei meinen ehemaligen Schwiegereltern, in Thailand, mir das Haus, welches ich ja zum Teil mitfinanziert habe, anschaun kann. Da sehe ich, dass sie die Kohle gut angelegt haben.

Guten Morgen habe ich grad gesagt ;)

Momentan ist es draußen noch bewölkt, aber die Wolken lösen sich schon auf und es wird wahrscheinlich ein schöner letzter Tag in diesem Jahr.

Für solche Zwecke sind Google Maps und Earth wirklich super, sofern Google die Fotos aktualisiert und die User Fotos und Videos aufspielen.
Du hast mich doch glatt erinnert, dass ich wieder mal zu mir nach Hause schauen könnte - und da hat doch tatsächlich ein Nachbar ein 360-Grad-Foto per Drohne von unserer Ortschaft gemacht. Das Bild ist ein paar Monate vor den Unwettern voriges Jahr aufgenommen worden. Damit du mal die Millionenstadt siehst, in der ich aufgewachsen bin, aber einige der Häuser sind Ställe und Scheunen ;)

Sieht super aus. Natur pur. Habs meiner Maus gezeigt sie mag es, sie war noch nie in Europa.
Ich bin in der Stadt aufgewachsen, für mich waren Besuche in so einem Dorf immer Urlaub :)

Das Dorf hat noch nicht mal die Größe eines richtigen Dorfes, dabei hat es vor einigen Jahrzehnten sogar ein Geschäft hier gegeben und die Schule, in die mein Großvater, Vater und auch ich gegangen bin, ist vor gar nicht so langer Zeit zugesperrt worden.
Wir waren damals etwa 22 Schüler aus den umliegenden Dörfern - alle 4 Volksschulklassen in einem Raum mit einem Lehrer. Die Großen haben die Kleinen unterrichtet, während der Lehrer die anderen Klassen unterrichtet hat, und viele Sachen haben wir gemeinsam gemacht. Das war die beste Schule, die ich je besucht habe ... und nur 3 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt :)

Mein Papa ist dort sogar 8 Jahre lang in die Schule gegangen, weil es damals noch keine Hauptschule gegeben hat - da waren 8 Jahre Volksschule ganz normal. Und der Vater meines Lehrers war sein Lehrer, und wenn sie die Schul enicht geschlossen hätten, weil einfach zu wenige Schüler waren, dann hätte wahrscheinlich der Sohn meines Lehrers übernommen :)

In der Hauptschule hatten wir sogar ein Lehrer-Ehepaar. Die sind auch jeden Tag mit uns mit dem Bus in die Schule gefahren und nachdem sie auch ein Ehepaar waren, haben sie sich auch so verhalten und im Bus gestritten, als ob sie alleine wären - die beste Unterhaltung für uns 😉

Jeden Tag im Bus die schlimmsten Streitereien und dann sollen wir in der Klasse Respekt haben? Hatten wir aber, denn sie waren beide wirklich gute Lehrer, aber die Streitereien im Bus waren extrem ;)

Ich finde es auch schön, in den nächsten Monaten wird aber immer mehr Schnee auf den Bergen sein. Hier ist aber seit letzter Woche fast nichts dazugekommen.

Blue sky and no clouds - boring ;)

We have had postcard weather yesterday, and today is the same - the sunrise I wanted to shoot was not worth getting up so early, but I cannot sleep longer anyway, as you know ;)
There have been only two small strange looking clouds in the sky this morning. I think I'll crop the photos to show only these !DERANGED clouds ;) lol

Yes, we have a good time. We have just had lunch and now I'm replying to comments and import the photos from this morning. Later we want to visit my sister and then drive back home.

To be honest with you I have to say, that you are completely wrong - I haven't been once on the couch and I almost never eat ice cream - in 2019 I ate none.
But I sat lazy in my car and drove from one spot to another, went for a few short hikes and found a to me new waterfall. That's pretty much all I have done, apart from a bit of photo editing and posting and commenting... ;)

Yes, I am very healthy, my friend.
As you might remember, I have grown up on the countryside right below a steep mountain forest and have been living in the shadow of this forest for a long time.
This might have made me much stronger than others, because none of my family is often ill, apart from my mum, but she loves to go to the doctor ;)

Oh my mum does like to go there, because there are always some people waiting and to talk about the weather and this and that... she likes to talk, and you would have much fun talking to her if she would speak any English ;)

Right, most of the food has come from our garden and much of the meat came from the neighbor farmers - all clean from chemistry and fresh and healthy 🙂

When she went to school they didn't learn English, but she learned Italian, because she comes from East Tyrol which is a direct neighbor of Italy (South Tyrol).

All children learn English at school, of course. English is the main foreign language, but depending on the school they learn other languages like French, Spanish or even Russian or other languages too.

I don't think you could make use of German when most of the people around you speak Spanish unless you want to move to Austria or Germany 😉

Although I think cash is better, because you can feel it and you can see how much you have and you can see how it gets less and less in your pocket or wallet, I would prefer a digital solution, because it's so much easier to handle. We pay for everything in cash unless it is a big expense but I think almost everyone else uses a debit or credit card. I like using cash because of what you said, it hurts when you see your wallet being drained, you are more aware of how much you are spending.

The government of course, wants to go digital so they can track everything and that will eliminate most cheating on taxes and such. You won't be able to get paid "under the table" in cash, for instance.

We'll have to use bartering to not be tracked by the government.
