Happy Forkday to the Hive Community

avatar

It's been a year since our community decided to take its destiny into its own hands.

It was not a foregone conclusion, because forking code is pretty easy, but forking community is something else. But the values that are important to us, such as decentralization, freedom of expression and being free from censorship, have been the fuel of our movement.

Our fork has received massive support, even outside our ecosystem. We made the headlines of the cryptosphere and the HIVE token was listed on several exchanges in no time, at no charge.

A year later, our community is more active than ever. The number of active users is growing slowly, but surely. Developments, both at the blockchain core level and at the applications level, are going well.

Our blockchain is a revolutionary combination of technical, financial and social aspects. Many enthusiasts have joined the adventure: developers, bloggers, investors ... people from all walks of life.

Some have joined us recently but others have been there from the start, and they are still there.

Therefore, we have many good reasons to celebrate our success today.

I am delighted to be part of this community, to participate in its development and to share with you all, early adopters and pioneers who are still with us, newcomers who join us to discover and share this experience, those values that are so important to me.

I wish you all a Happy Forkday!

Happy fork day! Very proud of what we did and how we are still here alive and kicking a full year later. Most don't manage to achieve what we did.

Looking forward to working with you and the rest of the community for more anniversaries to come!

Thank you @fredrikaa. Happy Forkday to you too.

It was a great challenge and I have to admit it was a bit stressful.
But the enthusiasm and the collaboration won the day and today I am totally reassured. The work done has been (and still is) amazing and we are now fully in control of our future.

Happy forkday to you too! The community has done great over the last year and proved that we don't need some corporation. There are still plenty of challenges, but I still feel we can achieve much more.

Thank you @steevc. Happy Forkday to you too!
Yes, there is still a lot of work to be done and it is indeed very challenging. I am happy to be able to contribute in a free environment.

Doesn't it just really come down to: Steemit got rid of The Westerners and went full Korean. The westerners then made a Hive.
Then Latin America, India, etc became the worker bees for the Hive, while the silent few just take rewards through blind curation?

That's what it looks like to me.
And why is steemit valued higher if community is so superior? Everyone said (hoped) Steem would die a quick death. But no so.

Koreans are a tight and committed community.. without boasting about "we are a superior community."

You may notice that my post does not mention Steem, nor any "superiority". Just the fact that we broke free.
Personally, I don't care what happens on that centralized and censored platform as my account there is actively... censored!
Finally, the price of something does not always reflect its intrinsic value.

So you'd rather avoid the points I made and then claim crypto isn't predominantly a game of money.

Blockchain is the technology yes but it's a secondary game for nerds. All I'm saying is if community was so superior then why isn't Hive soaring well above steem one year on. Even with proclaimed superiority in the development by both the community and the nerds that play with the code here it seems Hive has little interest outside of the die hards that migrated over here.

There is a lot of blind curation on Hive that is for sure but Steemit has gone full bidbot, running unchecked.
I look on the auto curation like a Patreon and although I may not like it those that are in receipt have brought consistent value to their community. I am sure that if it gets out of hand we will come together to balance it out. On Steemit I am not so sure.

It's hard to believe it's a year and yet, it's equally hard to think that it's only been a year. And what a year it's been. Thanks for all you do for this community. I am glad to be part of it and to see our token grow in value.

Happy forkday to you @arcange!!!!
I was a strong supporter of yours over on Steemit. I have only recently come across to HIVE and I am soooo encouraged at how the community is redeveloping and growing.

I am onboard the HIVE train and ready to do whatever is required or needed to help the community to grow and flourish.

You already have my witness vote, but there is anything else I can do please let me know. I will follow your posts closely in the first instance.

Viva Forkday!
