Project Day: Making Paper Flowers

Making Paper Flowers

We found a very simple method of making beautiful paper flowers using coffee filters, food coloring, cup cake papers, wooden skewers and hot glue.

We began by using coffee filters and placing them in water and food coloring.

Once they were colored, we put the wet coffee filters in our dehydrator and they dried out very quickly.

We had stacks of colored coffee filters ready for flower making.

The project began by arranging the different color papers. We used the skewers for the stems and attached the papers.

The middle used colored cupcake papers and the coffee filters for the rest.

It Was a Fun Project

We enjoyed the process of making these paper flowers. It was a fun learning experience for the children and they could make some more if we wanted to. We have some extra paper "petals" for the next paper flower project.

A new addition to my daughter's shelf, a green paper flower!

Oh that looks super fun and easy! I just might have to try it! We went to a birthday party this weekend where the kids got to paint and they had a blast - we don't do fun crafts often enough! I'll have to add this to our to-do list very soon!!

Ohh nice! I’m pretty sure I did this one with my kids but I don’t have photos so either I’m remembering wrong or it was when I kept forgetting to take photos 😵 we didn’t do the fun stuff with the food colouring though, just used coloured tissue paper and I think cupcake cups.

The flowers turned out beautiful 🙃
