CEO Paul, this AMA has cleared off a lot of question I had about the game, especially how the game world would be, so it is open-world now.
I like open world games like The Witcher, and I feel this game has a lot of potential, maybe you add an element of Roleplaying game into it and make it more worth it for RPGers.

Die Hauptgründe sind, das ich persönlich bereits damit meine Erfahrungen habe und dass die Dokumentation & Community von Unity umfangreicher ist, für jene Bereiche wo man noch Lernbedarf hat. Ich will mir nicht anmaßen UE in aller Gänze beurteilen zu können, aber Summa summarum: in Kombination damit, was Unity kann/bietet, beispielsweise auch deren zusätzliche Dienstleistungen und was wir für dieses Projekt an Anforderungen haben, alles passig - da kann man sich als junges Entwicklerteam durchaus wohl fühlen. Dass der CEO komische Sätze gucken lässt oder die Firmenleitung bedauernswerte Entscheidungen trifft, davon mal abgesehen.
Vermutlich liegt der Fokus von CryptoCompany auch nicht unbedingt auf ultrarealistischen Grafiken, oder? Das Ganze ist doch eher etwas im Komikstil gehalten. Die Alpha von PsyberX hat bereits ca. 40 GB.
[@PowerPaul:] Absolut richtig. Wer die wirklich krasseste Grafik sucht, wird mit der UE schneller zum Ziel kommen. Meinen Sichtungen nach kann man mit Unity & gutem Polish nahekommen, wenn man es darauf anlegt, aber ein gewisses Quentchen fehlt aktuell immernoch.
Ich hörte von vielen GB, ja. Unser Fokus liegt eher darauf, auf so vielen Rechnern wie möglich lauffähig zu sein und die Rechenressourcen in Physik & Gameplay zu investieren.
Du kennst Dich schon etwas aus, gelle? Bist Du auch in Game Engines am werkeln oder eher nur interessiert daran? Weil Du kennst Dich ja dann doch schon aus, wie mir scheint!
Klingt spannend was es bei euch zu tun gibt, aber mir fehlt das Know How. Ich hab zum Spaß mal etwas mit der Unreal Engine herumgespielt.

Aber hättest Du denn Interesse, in jene (evtl. nur Teil-)Gebiete hineinzuwachsen? Siehst Du dafür das Fundament in Dir? Manchmal ist Wollen ja wichtiger als Können. Wer will, kann in alles hineinwachsen, meine ich. Verstehst Du, was ich damit sagen will? Ich denke doch. Wenn wir uns mal per PM unterhalten wollen, dann würde ich das durchaus begrüßen! Wer weiß, was daraus erwachsen könnte!
