We were on our way to the Post Office, when we approached the Mail delivery truck ………..
“Jump out Liz, and ask the lady if she has any mail or Amazon packages for us!”😊
The Mail lady said she still wasn’t driving up our road, it’s too icy!😮
Hmmm…….🤔
We just came down our road in the Mrs car in 2/WD, no problem….
We have been driving on our road everyday………😇
Nothing on the Mail truck for us, so we continued driving to town…….
We are overdue for a half a dozen packages, some going on almost two weeks……..
No snow in the valley, you can see the Post Office parking lot in the third photo…..
Hmmm………
“Only two packages Silvertop, the clerk said they have TWENTY PALLETS in the back that they haven’t even opened!”😳
It’s only December 5th………
This might be a difficult year for shopping online………
They obviously didn’t hire enough extra workers for the Holiday Season!
We headed back home for today’s hike…
The higher we climbed up Sumas Mountain today, the deeper the snow!
In the last photo you can see the beautiful snow covered Canadian Mountains!😊

I don't know how Santa is going to get things delivered in time if USPS is this backed up now! I know he subcontracts mass deliveries to regional areas to make his Christmas Eve deliveries easier!

Are usually try to do my Christmas shopping on Amazon, I hope things are not behind it could really mess up Christmas!!🙄
That's so interesting, I can't imagine where I am, not being able to get mail because of the weather. I am sure some of the remote parts of Scotland are difficult though. Here nothing ever seems to stop - unless people go on strike - which is quite common here at the moment.
Yes we have the railroad striking over here as well, crazy times we live in.... Very high inflation!!!!
The Mrs. was finally able to drive to the post office and they gave her the mail, the mail truck still has not come up our road.......
How high is your inflation? Its crazy in Europe generally - some countries worse than other but many above 10% including the UK.
When we go shopping many items like food are double in price!!!
Mrs. just told me she doesn't know how people are going to survive.....
Officially I just got my statement for my Social Security and they're saying it's only 7.8%......
Of course they don't count gasoline, heating oil, food, housing Lol!!😇😬🙄
Its very similar here. Too many people using food banks for handouts even though they have jobs. Fuel and electricity are so expensive, made worse of course because of Ukraine. Europe are used to relying on Russian gas and there is a huge hole in the market now.
It's not a good situation, I think it's affecting the whole world the war in Ukraine!!
I hope inflation stabilizes, but honestly I don't think it will...... take care my friend!!!
There is no obvious way for either side to win the war in the short term. So I think we are here for the long ride. Hopefully, things won't escalate.

This is how it goes in the northwest, we get snowed on, and then it will melt a bit! Right now we are melting at lower elevations, but at higher elevations of snow pack is still deep!🙄

The tall mountains actually create their own weather, similar to a volcano how I can change weather patterns...
Yeah. Even in Baguio City, it is the coldest city in the Philippines.
It's interesting to watch the clouds as a circle the mountains.... Sometimes our active volcano will steam and you can watch the smoke circle around the volcano!!!

Mount Baker is listed as an active volcano....
It's steams intermittently they say it's well overdue for any irruption....

I think where we live we are behind another mountain. So if it was a pyroclastic explosion we would be somewhat sheltered............

I'm not aware of pyroclastic eruption. Just in case, ashfall might be the problem?
A pyroclastic explosion is extremely dangerous! It is a fast moving irruption with lava, ash ,and smoke, and it can move up to 100 km an hour destroying everything in its path......
That's scary. It makes me think of Dante's Peak.
This really is scary and my friend! I have seen maps that show you where the lava would flow if we had an eruption! It would fill the local rivers with hot molten lava!!😳😬

That's the scary part my friend, irruption can happen so quickly by the time they alert everyone is usually too late!!
Really? I remember the eruption of a volcano here in the Philippines before Covid, there are signs already so everyone are evacuated. Everyone are spared with no casualties.

When Mount Saint Helens erupted, there were a lot of small tremors that people disregarded very dangerous!!!
