Buy HIVE with a Credit Card? Yes You Can!
Chain Bits
Anyone who thinks the process of purchasing crypto is a difficult process should take a look at chain bits, a simplified crypt buying tool that accepts all major credit and debit cards.
Select the crypto you want to purchase, enter how much you want to purchase and your HIVE address.
Then reach for your wallet. You do pay some premium for the service, HIVE is sold currently for $1.34 each.
It's That Simple
As always, do your homework. Purchase / invest at your own risk. I am not a financial advisor. Contact

People, who have trust issues are not going to enter the details of their credit cards. For them, it is safer to transfer their fiat money to an exchange first, then buy cryptocurrency there. At least I currently do not know an easier way to buy cryptocurrency.
It does take a certain amount of trust before reaching for a card - it's not for everyone. I'm just happy such a SIMPLE method of purchasing HIVE using fiat exists!
Ironically there are a number of exchanges that have ripped their customers off, stolen their tokens or had outrageous withdrawal fees. But if someone has a good history with an exchange, they would feel more comfortable with them having earned their trust.
This is pretty slick...Problem for me has always been the inability for Canadians to use onboarding ramps like this. The direct fiat -> Hive bridges have never seemed to wrk for us.
I'll poke around and see if I can use this though. Thanks!

Does Coinbase still work for you?

Interesting, I wonder if chainbits would even work in Canada, suppose it depends on that person's spending history. All Canadians can say is "Thank you, Mr. T". We might all be thanking our overlords for "keeping us safe", preventing us little people from spending their fake fiat money for real immutable money.
It looks easy but it looks like the images mention that using a debit card is better?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yes, I wonder if it attempts to make a cash advance instead of a normal charge. IF that's the case, debit is the only way to go, cash advance fees on credit cards are often crazy high.
How fracking cool is that :)

I found it helpful, figured I would share! Thanks for the comment!
Nice and simple, the on-ramps are getting harder to find. I currently like using Binance.

Doesn't get any easier than this!
The exchange rate is not very interesting, for small amounts like this I'm willing to exchange for a payment by Paypal, but it requires a shared trust.

Yes the exchange rate is not fantastic (or rather fantastically high!) but I love the idea of it. If daddy warbucks wants to pick up a couple 10k's of tokens, it's an easy way for him to do it! Thank you for your support on ListNerds!

Great job at this tutorial. And I actually learned something new here. I didn't know this ChainBits. So thanks for that!

I'm relieved that there is a direct fiat -> HIVE option.
ListNerds always gives us a lot of excellent quality content. I liked this recommendation and although I am not a lover of credit cards, with this post, we would give them good and effective use. Excellent friend

I agree, that's why I try to contribute only useful posts... although I do post my daily blog of varying quality. !LOL
That's actually good, an opinion every crypto enthusiast should have! Using them for crypto (that most believe is currently undervalued) is a good use in my opinion.

Interesting platform. Lots of pros and cons. It seems the credit card fee is higher but offers better fraud protection than a debit card, which, if compromised can drain your bank account quickly.
I am always amused by people who do not trust using a credit card online but don't think twice about handing it to a waiter in a restaurant.
I guess everyone has their comfort zone.
Good post Benjamin!

I had my debit card number stolen once. I found all sorts of unusual purchases like water park tickets and football uniforms. But my bank stopped it and reimbursed all the charges, with no hassle. They reimbursed me 100% while they investigated, which was a great relief. So there is some protection even with debit cards.
That is a big premium for that service. If Hive trades for $1.09 per token but I pay $1.34 per token, the premium is $0.25 per token so if I want to purchase 100 Hive that premium will be $25. That feels like an expensive premium, especially over time.
Then again I am kind of cheap lol

I agree the premium is high. For people who believe Hive will go to $100, they won't care about $0.25.
