Hive Basic Income Giveaway - January 2023
Another month, another Giveaway!
The winners of last month's giveaway are @jfang003, @stdd, @steemmillionaire, @bombus and @steem-holder and the Hive Basic Income has been set up for them! Due to some family issues, it's been quite a bit later then expected, my appologies for that. It's been keeping me quite busy, and for that same reason, I'm keeping this post rather short as well.

Are you known with the concept of "Basic Income"?
Wikipedia describes it as follows:
Universal basic income (UBI) is a sociopolitical financial transfer policy proposal in which all citizens of a given population regularly receive a legally stipulated and equally set financial grant paid by the government without a means test.

In short: it's a system where everyone just gets money to live from, covering basic needs.

THanks for hosting this giveaway. I think UBI is a reasonable proposal. Certainly more reasonable than signing up for a life of exploitation in a system that is increasingly weighing toward accelerating inequality. Wealth redistribution is exactly what a society does, so it might as well do so to assist the basic needs of as many people as possible.
I'd like to sign up for this giveaway because I would hope that the BI systems on Hive might encourage me to post more often.

Unlike UBI, the Hive SBIs are only payed out in form of upvotes, correct? So if someone doesn´t post, he won´t get anything.
So rather the staking of HP creates a real UBI, in form of the 3% inflation (let alone the curation rewards).
True, they only pay out in the form of upvotes, so no posts, no income. And indeed, staking works better, and voting-trails added to the mix for sure! But, if you regularly post, the HBI initiative will help you build up more to stake and use for upvotes.

Hi friend, Nice to see you back in action, really missed you during your absence. Hope your family issues have been sorted out and everything is fine.
I think it somewhat relates to socialist economic model where every individual get money according to his/her needs without any test.
Although, Hive BI has a different model, someone has to pay for someone to get benefits.

Thank you for the HSBI. I think HSBI is great because it rewards people for dropping by and posting. While it does stack up, I think it's way more rewarding if you are consistent.
