"Nightcrawler" - To The Point - Movie Review

A sick tale of a psycho taking the job (in the movie called nightcrawling) to the extreme.

"nightcrawler" —a photojournalist who cruises the city after dark while listening to the radio chatter of first responders, all in an effort to get to crime scenes and accidents as fast as possible and snap a picture that he can sell to a news outlet.

Jake G. is a good actor. Movie's good due to his performance (there's barely any other performance at all), and it's an interesting view of how journalism can control people's lives.

This is one of my favorite movies.

watch something else to get the bad taste out of your mouth

ha ha, I could even agree with that part, but "the bad taste" really might be due to something else in it than a supposedly bad taste of Nightcrawler writer and director or a presumably bad acting because none of those things are bad in it.

yeah, bad taste as in "how the media glorifies crime, death and gore just for the ratings". acting is great (when is Jake ever bad at it!? ) the movie's good!

Yeah, it's about free market economy's downside in the field of journalism. The guys who deliver the freelance material are called stringers. Nightcrawler is simply excellent in highlighting the aspects of journalism; how it can be exploited and go morally wrong. As so many times with other things, a lot depends on an individual. That's all still better than having a nazi, commie or religious censorship though.

no argument there!

As so many times with other things, a lot depends on an individual.

yeah, and that was the stomach revolting part - jake character is a bit out of it - i can understand him. the people in charge of the station though, they should have had the moral compass - to be fair some did, just not the person in charge, and that happens everywhere, not just journalism - one just needs to look at some of the world leaders today!
