The Things People Do

I think it's time a lot of people realize that their action sometimes changes people from who they used to be to the person they are now. And this would be a good thing if they were changing them from bad to good but nope, it's usually the other way around, it's usually the good people being treated in a bad way and then turning them to bad people.

I had this very close friend of mine back then in hostel (let's call him Desmond) who was single. He was looking for a girlfriend at the time and had met this innocent looking lady (let's call her Rose). Rose had just moved into our hostel and at first, I was the one who was a little bit close to Rose. We would greet each other and say a little joke to each other every now and then. To me, Rose was a typical version of an innocent lady. She mostly kept to herself and only spoke when she needed too and this was mostly because she was the shy type.

This friend of mine (Desmond) one day saw Rose and told me he liked her. It was just one of those guy talk and I had no idea he had been serious. One thing led to another and before I knew what was happening, Rose and Desmond were now close friends. I had no problem with their friendship seeing how the thought of dating her never crossed my mind, all I wanted was to be good friends with her and that was all I needed.

It didn't take long before they both started dating and I remember asking Desmond what his plans were for Rose because I didn't want him to hurt her by playing with her heart. He had promised me that he truly liked her and wanted to be with her and I believed him but then three months into their relationship, he broke it off with her.

I could tell she felt really really hurt because of the heartbreak but I couldn't go to her because due to their relationship, I had to step back a bit from the way I spoke to her in other not to give my friend a bad impression about me and her, I was respecting their relationship and unfortunately, that kinda had a bad effect on our friendship and me and Rose no longer were as close as we used to be.

Anyways, their relationship ended and for about two months, Rose went into her shell. We no longer saw her around even though we all were living in the same hostel and whenever I did see her, she would just say hi and then walk away, it was as if we were strangers meeting for the first time all over again. I knew it was because my friend had done her wrong and she probably felt that I knew of his intentions from the beginning and never warned her about it which wasn't true.

Anyway, after months of being in her shell, Rose finally got over the break up and now she's something else. The cute innocent Rose I knew all those months ago was no more. The Rose I now saw was a completely different person. My friend had messed up a good one and now that good one had decided that something like that will never happen to her again so she had to sacrifice her innocence just to protect herself.

Too bad that happened to her. To them.
She's probably made a resolve to not let herself get hurt that way again.
But she'll be fine.

Yup, she did what she felt would keep her safe and I understand that.

This is so sad for Rose and unfair from Desmond's side. Though, I wouldn't blame Rose but she shouldn't have changed that way. She could have just come to you and explain things because with how she misbehaved, she would have the impression that you knew who Desmond is. Perhaps, you could also meet with her to let her know.

It's really sad that humans are the cause of another being turning from the good way to the bad and it takes a long while for such a person to be who he or she really is.

Yeah it's really sad.. I initially had wanted to approach her but felt it's best she healed the way she wanted to.. If not talking to any of us would make her feel better, then I'm fine with that decision.
