The Path of Destruction
As a human being, especially one living in a country like mine where it seems like if you're not going against the law, committing crimes and doing something you ain't suppose to be doing, if you're not someone who has learnt to feel motivate rather than envy, you might end up going down a path that could possibly ruin your life during the long run.
About a month ago, someone at my hostel had returned back from his trip home after spending about two weeks there. We got talking and all he was talking about was how his friends back at home had bought lands and even started building on it, meanwhile he was here, wasting his time in school and all that..then he ended the whole thing by talking about how he needed to double down on his hustle.
The friend he was talking about happens to be an internet fraudster and the hustle he was trying to double down on also happens to be internet fraud. Unfortunately, due to how rich these people get this days, it makes other people trying to make a living the legit way feel like they ain't trying enough, and then at the end of the day they feel like they have no choice but to also go commit crimes themselves.
The other day another friend of mine was talking to me about being broke, and I had tried advising him to go get a job, so that he could at least have food on his table and be able to afford other little things for himself, but he had immediately turned down the idea, telling me that that wasn't the kind of money he was interested in making. Apparently he wanted to make millions in the shortest time possible and of course, the only way he could do that is to turn to a life of crime.
The crazy thing is that living a life like this has become so normalised that people just generally feel like that is the only option available, so most of them don't even try doing something else, they just go directly into fraud or worse, into other diabolical means like money ritual.
It will amaze you the amount of youths that has done that, and thousands of other willing to do that if someone shows them the way. It's almost as if no one believes in little beginnings anymore, everyone is just diving into a life of crime almost like that is the only option available.
The scary thing is that it is people that I consider to be my friends, that are telling me that they plan on going down this path and there's nothing I can say or do to change their mind.
money is something powerful that makes people do crazy things! That's where our conscience plays a good role in making us avoid this path!
That conscience is what a lot of people are lacking this days, because it just seems like no one cares anymore... And it's scary because the moment you stop caring, there's no limit to how far you can go just to get that money.
There is no way to take shortcut to be rich if anyone want to do it in legal way. Illegal money may make one rich in a short time but it will cost the peace of life and those people keep running from here to there.
That isn't always the case. There are people who have made money illegally and are still doing well till this day.
