Is It Even Possible?

Is there a way we could ever avoid stress as living human beings?

At first glance of that question, your immediate answer would most likely be yes, but when you take a step back and really examine the question, you get to find out that almost everything you do (if not everything) has a bit of stress in it.

The only difference is that there are good stress and there are bad ones, and most times when we do the good ones, we don't look at it as stress when in reality, it is. It's like when you pop a gum into your mouth, for the first few minutes it's in there, it still has its flavour so it's sweet and enjoyable, and you don't complain about it.

But as time goes on, you get to a point where the gum has lost all of its flavour, and you know that you have to spit it out now because it's starting to hurt your jaw as you chew on it. But it's not like you're doing anything different from when you first started to chew the gum, it's still the same process of chewing, the same gum, the only difference is that it went from being sweet and enjoyable, to being a pain in your jaw.

So, coming back to the question, is it possible to avoid stress, my answer to that question would be no because no matter what we do, there will always be a trace of stress in it, we just never notice until we do, but that doesn't mean that just because something is fun doesn't mean it can't be stress because naturally we associated the word stress to something we don't want to do but have to, when it's not always the case.

Even sleeping can be stressful sometimes, and I have to say that because I know it's one time that comes to mind where it feels like we don't do anything, thereby not stressing ourselves, but is that true?

I, for one, know for a fact that there have been times I've gone to bed and woke up exhausted, or times when I literally had to fight with myself to get some sleep because it just wouldn't happen, now if that isn't stressful to you, I don't know what else is.

Also, I'm avoiding talking about how stressing ourselves can be important in our lives in other to achieve most goals in our lives, because a lot of people have spoken about it already, even though I have a story of my own to tell.

The bottom line of it all is that in life, it's essential for us to stress ourselves and that it can't really be avoided. And that not all stress is bad, most athletes enjoy their job, but they sweat a ton when they're out there doing it.

in one line: "Stress is unavoidable in all human activities, including enjoyable ones and even sleep, distinguishing only between good (motivating) and bad (draining) forms."

I think its possible to be healthy.. but sometimes its hard.
