A Day in the life
I'm not an outdoorsy kind of person, and this is mainly because I rarely have a reason to be. Everything I need to survive my day to day could be gotten in my street downstairs, so what I do most times is make a list of everything I might need for the day, go downstairs and buy all of it at once, and then that's it....I have no reason whatsoever to go outside my hostel.
It's a boring and less stressful life I know, but I've gotten used to it, and this is why when days like today comes where I have no choice but to go outside of my area, just because I have to do something important, I don't get excited about it.
Well, today I had to leave home because I had some important documents that I needed to sort out because of my National Youth Service. The first stop that I made was at a café (which is a computer shop where you could photocopy documents or make certain online payments), and I probably didn't spend up to thirty minutes in there, but the money that left my pocket was more than half the entire money I had on me.
The next stop I made was at the office of this school official, whom I was suppose to just give my documents and head back home. But unfortunately, corruption happened and I was threatened by him, to either pay him or risk finding my document at a bottomless pit somewhere. He basically told me that if I didn't bribe him, he was going to keep my file in a place where no one would see it for a while, so I had no choice but to bribe him.
Funny enough, when I left home that morning with all of that money on me, I had no plans of using all of it, but being the kind of guy that I am, I had decided to go with it anyway, just in case I found myself in an unforseen situation where I needed to make unplanned expenses...and that was what I did, I made a lot of unplanned expenses.
By this time, all I wanted to do was head back home and just lie on my bed, because I knew that on my bed, no one was going to extort me of any money. But unfortunately, I had one more stop to make, I needed to go to the bank.
I've been making plans for the last three years to go to the bank to get myself a new ATM card but everytime the date comes, I always found a reason to postpone. But today, I decided enough was enough, so immediately I was done getting extorted, I boarded a bus straight to the bank and the moment I stepped into the bank, I felt like not leaving.
The moment those air conditioners touched my skin, I felt like I was in a different country. It felt good having to take a break from the scorching sun, but just like all good things, that didn't last. It turned out that there weren't any crowd at the bank today, so I got attended to quickly, and had to leave the bank.
From there I went straight home, and the moment I got on my bed, I just knew I'm not going out anymore until it's year 2026.
Last twenty days, I was indoor as well, just a few calculated outing and home. Looks like you passed a hectic day for sure, enough for 2025, hahaha.
Definitely enough for 2025 😂 but something tells me that very soon, I will face a lot more than what I went through yesterday.. I can feel it, I just need to get my mind and body ready for it 😂😂
3 years is indeed a huge time, but it's good that finally you went tothe bank for it. I think the bank manager shoud needed to greet you with flowers. 🤣🤣
When I told them that I haven't made use of the account for more than three years, they had to check to make sure my account wasn't dormant or inactive 😂
