Italy need extra time to beat Austria and reach quarter-finals.
Italy endured a very difficult match against resilient Austria to advance into the quarter finals of the euro 2020 after a 2-1 win in extra time.
Austria who are playing in their first European Championship knockout stage proved a very stubborn team to crack as they frustrated the Italians for most part of the game.
Italy faced a big scare in the second half after Marko Arnautovic converted a header only to be chucked off by the referee after a VAR check.
Goals by Federico Chielsa and Matteo Pessina in the 1st half of extra time gave a relief to Italy. Sasa Kalajdzic later scored but the Azzurris held their side well till the final whistle was blown.
Italy victory now sees them set up a quarter final showdown with the winner of either of Belgium or Portugal at the euro 2020.

Yeah quite enjoyed the outcome. Loved Chielsa's control how he dispatch the first goal. Loved the game overall has it was quite intense. Thought for a moment that Italy might suffer a shock defeat. Glad they didn't
Austria was like a torn to their flesh as they nearly get disqualify if not for the VAR that rule out a goal as offside
Yeah expected the match to end quickly but the Austrians seemed to have a plan of their own. They did well but it unfortunately wasn't their night, the var also showed that

Quite interesting has the game stretched out to extra time. I believe most of the fun part of the game happened in the last 30 minutes of the fixture

Croatia did well with the comeback before 90minutes. But sadly they couldn't keep up the momentum in the extra time
Playing extra minutes in the game of football is not that easy because every players would have week to play more. But their mistakes is that them don't fight to the end
Yeah players tend to wear out at the stage. I believe the effort in their to put the game level drained lot of their energy. They wanted to fight but lacked the strength
