Japan's Annual Fukubukuro "Lucky Bag" Event

Hi Everyone,
One of the highlights of spending New Year in Japan is hunting down Fukubukuro aka Lucky Bags. It's our first time spending New Year in Japan, I was looking forward to getting some cool ones this year. I have previously bought some Fukubukuro due to the Golden Weekly on previous trips and the ones I've purchased have been pretty cool. We found out this year due to COVID, many of the bigger brands require customers to pre-order them online or put in a ballot like Macdonalds or Starbucks and winners will be notified to have them collected or sent to their home addresses. Unfortunately, we don't have a home address so we can't participate in those and can only buy what is in store and there aren't many good ones available.
I did though buy my first Fukubukuro bag and it's a Haagen Dazs one from Aeon. I love the flavours they offer in Japanese as they always have limited ones and it's a must-eat when I come to Japan. This Fukubukuro was only 1000 yen which is around $12AUD. Normally these ice creams are on the higher end in the supermarket in Japan and in Australia, a tub will cost me $7 on sale so spending $12 and getting a full bag of them is a great deal!
First is a get a voucher to get a chance to win a 1000 yen Aeon voucher. Again I don't have a permanent Japanese address so can't go into that draw. Let's see what is inside. A box of 6 ice cream cups, an ice cream bar and 1 ice cream sandwich! Gosh, the 6 ice cream cups alone are well worth the price and you get more. This Fukubukuro was definitely worth it. Also, take note that the ice cream cups are limited edition meaning it is only limited to this season/event. Took me a few days to finish them all and it is well worth it.
Have you ever bought any Fukubukuro? Let me know :)

I have not tried it but surely hunting all the lucky bags there in Japan must be so exciting, hehe. I hope to hunt more like bringing out the little kid in me. Have a wonderful time and more lucky bags to hunt in the future my friend. Keep safe always.
