The 1st Match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 was played today bitween Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars at Manuka Oval, Canberra. In which Sydney Thunder defeated Melbourne Stars by 1 wicket.

Sydney Thunder won the toss and invited Melbourne Stars to bat first, Melbourne Stars batted first and started the inning not very well, Nick Larkin scored 25 runs in 26 balls, Joe Burns was retired hurt for 18 runs in 16 balls, Coulter-Nile was dismissed for 15 runs in 11 balls, Tom Rogers 14 runs in 10 balls, Hilton Cartwright 12 runs in 13 balls, Joe Clarke 11 runs in 11 balls, Luke Wood dismissed for 6 runs, Beau Webster 4 runs, Marcus Stoinis dismissed without scoring, Trent Boult remains unbeaten for 4 runs, and Adam Zampa also remains unbeaten for 4 runs.
