The 23rd Match of the Big Bash League 2022-23 was played today between Adelaide Strikers vs Melbourne Stars at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide. In which Melbourne Stars won the match by 8 runs.

Melbourne Stars batted first after winning the toss, started the inning very brilliantly, Joe Clarke and Thomas Rogers came to start the inning and gave a brilliant start with a half-century partnership of 63 runs for the first wicket, the first wicket has gone for 63 runs in 7.2 over, Thomas Rogers dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 30 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 24 balls, next batsman Beau Webster came to bat and he dismissed very quickly just for 3 runs as second wicket in 9.2 over, the team score was 70 runs, next batsman Marcus Stoinis came to bat and handled the inning with Joe Clarke, the third wicket has gone for 112 runs in first ball of the 14th over, Joe Clarke dismissed after playing a brilliant inning of 42 runs with the help of 1 six and 4 boundaries in just 32 balls, next batsman Hilton Cartwright came to bat and he good strike rotate with Marcus Stoinis for a while, the fourth wicket has gone for 134 runs in last ball of the 16th over, Hilton Cartwright dismissed for 11 runs in 9 balls, followed by Nick Larkin came to bat and he also good strike rotate with Marcus Stoinis, the fifth wicket has gone for 177 runs in first ball of the final over, Marcus Stoinis dismissed after playing a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 74 runs with the help of 6 sixes and 5 boundaries in just 35 balls, next batsman Campbell Kellaway came to bat and he dismissed after scoring 9 runs as sixth wicket in fifth ball of the final over, the team score was 186 runs, followed by Luke Wood came to bat and he dismissed in the next and final ball in without score as seventh wicket, and Nick Larkin remains unbeaten for 9 runs in 7 balls. In this way, Melbourne Stars scored 186 runs after losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a strong target of 187 runs for Adelaide Strikers.

Adelaide Strikers bowler Wes Agar performed very brilliant bowling took 3 wickets just for 27 runs, and Henry Thornton took 2 wickets for 46 runs.

Adelaide Strikers chasing 187 runs in the seocnd inning they could manage just 178 runs after losing 5 wickets in stipulated 20 overs, Adelaide Strikers started the inning very well althought the first wicket has gone very quickly, Matthew Short and Henry Hunt came to start the inning, the first wicket has gone very quickly just for 6 runs in fourth ball of the first over, Matthew Short dismissed just for 6 runs, next batsman Chris Lynn came to bat and handled the inning with Henry Hunt, the second wicket has gone for 49 runs in 5.2 over, Chris Lynn dismissed after scoring 21 runs with the help of 1 six and 2 boudnries in just 12 balls, next batsman Adam Hose came to bat handled the inning and played a very brilliant half-century partnership of 72 runs with Henry Hunt, the third wicket has gone for 123 runs in 14.2 over, Henry Hunt dismissed after playing a very brilliant inning of 49 runs with the help of 1 six and 5 boundaries in 40 balls, followed by Colin de Grandhomme came to bat, and he dismissed after scoring 13 runs in 8 balls as as fourth wicket in 16.2 over, the team score was 143 runs, next batsman Thomas Kelly came to bat and he dismissed just in 1 ball as fifth wicket in 16.3 over, followed by Rashid Khan came to bat and played well with Adam Hose, but unlicky they can't reacgh to the target by 8 runs, Adam Hose played a very brilliant unbeaten half-century inning of 56 runs with the help of 1 six and 4 boundaries in 41 balls with Rashid Khan, and Rashid Khan also played an unbeaten quick inning of 24 runs with the help of 1 six and 2 boundaries in just 14 balls. In this way, Adelaide Strikers could manage just 178 runs after losing 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by 8 runs.

Melbourne Stars bowlers Liam Hatcher took 2 wickets for 29 runs, and Trent Boult, Beau Webster, and Adam Zampa got 1-1 wicket.

Melbourne Stars batsman Marcus Stoinis was selected as the best player of the match, he played a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 74 runs with the help of 6 sixes and 5 boundaries in just 35 balls.
