The 18th Match of the Big Bash League 2023-24 was played today between Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers at Docklands Stadium, Melbourne. In which Melbourne Renegades beat Adelaide Strikers by 4 wickets.

TOSS- Adelaide Strikers won the toss and opted to bat.

Adelaide Strikers Innings- Adelaide Strikers batted first after winning the toss, started the inning very well, Matthew Short and D Arcy Short came to start the inning, the first wicket has dismissed for 16 runs in last ball of the 2nd over, Matthew Short dismissed just for 8 runs in 9 balls, next batsman Chris Lynn came to bat handled the inning and played a very brilliant half-century partnership of 82 runs with D Arcy Short for the second wicket, the second wicket has dismissed for 98 runs in 12.4 over, Chris Lynn dismissed after playing a brilliant quick half-century inning of 54 runs with the help of 1 six and 5 boundaries in just 47 balls, next batsman Jake Weatherald came to bat and he was dismissed very quickly just in 2 balls without scoring as third wicket in last ball of the 13th over, the team score was 98 runs, followed by Adam Hose came to bat and he also dismissed very quickly just for 2 runs in 3 balls as fourth wicket in first ball of the 16th over, the team score was 117 runs, next batsman Jamie Overton came to bat and handled the inning with D Arcy Short, the fifth wicket has dismissed for 137 runs in 16.4 over, D Arcy Short dismissed after playing a brilliant half-century inning of 54 runs with the help of 1 six and 5 boundaries in just 47 balls, next batsman James Bazley came to bat and he good strike rotate for a while with Jamie Overton, the sixth wicket has dimsissed for 153 runs in 18.3 over, James Bazley dismissed just for 4 runs in 5 balls, followed by Harry Nielsen came to bat handled the inning and played a brilliant quick unbeaten inning of 17 runs with the help of 1 six and 1 boundary in just 5 balls with Jamie Overton, and Jamie Overton also played a very brilliant quick unbeaten inning of 29 runs with the help of 2 sixes and 1 boundary in just 15 balls. In this way, Adelaide Strikers scored 177 runs after losing 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and set a target of 178 runs for Melbourne Renegades.

Melbourne Renegades bowlers- Mujeeb Ur Rahman took 3 wickets just for 20 runs in his spell, Will Sutherland 1 wicket for 34 runs in his spell, Peter Siddle 1 wicket for 48 runs in his spell, Adam Zampa was wicketless for 25 runs in his spell, and Tom Rogers also wicketless for 48 runs in his spell.

Melbourne Renegades inning- Melbourne Renegades chasing 178 runs in the second inning achieved the target very easily for losing just 6 wickets in the fourth ball of the 19th over and won the match by 4 wickets. Melbourne Renegades started the inning very strongly, although the first wicket Quinton de Kock was dismissed very quickly just in 1 ball and Joe Clarke was retired hurt after scoring 28 with the help of 1 six and 4 boundaries in just 19 balls, after that Jake Fraser-McGurk and Shaun Marsh handled the inning, the second wicket Jake Fraser-McGurk dismissed after playing a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 70 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 5 boundaries in just 37 balls in 11.5 over, the team score was 123 runs, next batsman Jonathan Wells came to bat and he good strike rotate with Shaun Marsh, the third wicket Jonathan Wells dismissed just for 8 runs in 11 balls in 14.5 over, the team score was 148 runs, followed by Mackenzie Harvey came to bat and he was dismissed just for 2 runs in 3 balls as fourth wicket in 15.4 over, the team score was 155 runs, next batsman Will Sutherland came to bat and he dismissed after scoring 11 aftet hitting 1 six and 1 boundary in just 6 balls in 16.4 over, the team score was 167 runs, next batsman Tom Rogers came to bat, after a few moments the sixth wicket Shaun Marsh also dismissed after playing a very brilliant half-century inning of 54 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 3 boundaires in just 33 balls in 18.2 over, the team score was 177 runs, followed by Adam Zampa came to bat and he was remains unbeaten wihtout playing a ball with Tom Rogers, and Tom Rogers also remians unbeaten for 1 run in 2 balls. In this way, Melbourne Renegades chased the target very easily for losing just 6 wickets in 18.4 overs and won the match by 4 wickets.

Adelaide Strikers bowlers- David Payne took 3 wickets just for 37 runs in 3.4 overs, Jamie Overton 1 wicket for 29 runs in his spell, James Bazley 1 wicket for 21 runs in 3 overs, Cameron Boyce 1 wicket for 37 runs in 3 overs, Wes Agar was wicketless for 17 runs in 2 overs, Matthew Short wicketless for 20 runs in 2 overs, and D Arcy Short also wicketless for 16 runs in 1 over.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH- Melbourne Renegades batsman Jake Fraser-McGurk was selected as the player of the match, he played a very brilliant quick half-century inning of 70 runs with the help of 4 sixes and 5 boundaries in just 37 balls.
