England Women won the match by 7 wickets against New Zealand Women.
The 12th Match of the Commonwealth Games Women's Cricket Competition 2022 was played yesterday bitween England Women vs New Zealand Women at Edgbaston, Birmingham, in which England Women won the match by 7 wickets.
New Zealand Women batted first after winning the toss, started the inning very poorly, not Maddy Green scored 19 runs in 24 balls, Hannah Rowe remains unbeaten for 10 runs, apart from this no any batsman could touch out 10 runs, Hayley Jensen dismissed just for 7 runs, Lea Tahuhu dismissed for 7 runs, Suzie Bates 6 runs, Fran Jonas remains unbeaten for 4 runs, Izzy Gaze dismissed just for 4 runs, Amelia Kerr 3 runs, Sophie Devine 1 run, Brooke Halliday 1 run, and Rosemary Mair dismissed without scoring, in this way wickets continuously failed one after another and New Zealand Women could score just 71 runs after losing 9 wickets in 20 overs and set a target of 72 runs in front of England Women.
England Women's bowlers performed very brilliant bowling Katherine Brunt took 2 wickets just for 4 runs in 3 overs, Issy Wong took 2 wickets just for 10 runs in 3 overs, Sarah Glenn took 2 wickets just for 13 runs in her spell, and Sophie Ecclestone got 1 wicket just for 11 runs in her spell.
England Women chasing 72 runs in the second inning achived the target very easly by losing just 3 wickets in fourth ball of the 12 ovet and won the match by 7 wickets, England Women started the inning very brillianty althought the first wicket has gone very quicky, Danielle Wyatt and Sophia Dunkley came to start the inning the first wicket has gone very quickly just for 2 runs in last ball of the first over, Danielle Wyatt dismissed just for 1 runs, next batsman Alice Capsey came to bat and played very well with Sophia Dunkley, the second wicket has gone for 43 runs in second ball of the 7th over, Alice Capsey dismissed after scoring 23 runs in 19 balls, next batsman Natalie Sciver came to bat and after few moments the third wicket has aslo gone for 46 runs in second ball of the 9th over, Sophia Dunkley dismissed for 19 runs in 23 balls, followed by Amy Jones came to bat handled the inning and reach the target very easily with Natalie Sciver, Amy Jones played an unbeaten victory inning of 18 runs with the help of 4 boundaries in just 10 balls, and Natalie Sciver also remains unbeaten for 7 runs, in this way, England Women chased the target very easily by losing just 3 wickets in 11.4 overs and won the match by 7 wickets.
New Zealand Women bowlers Amelia Kerr took 2 wickets for 27 runs, and Fran Jonas got 1 wicket for 10 runs.
