Urura Blue ๐ŸŒ€

Everything I ever saw was blue. Just blue. There were no other colours in my hometown. The shades of blue were so appealing. From the darkest shade to the lightest shade, just alluring.

We lived in a small town on the east coast called Urura. Turns out we were segregated. Now here's the story my grandma told me.

"Long ago, we all used to live happily in town with other humans. We went about our daily activities normally. I was young then and I loved going to school. School was fun, I would spend most of my time playing because that was what I knew how to do best.

My father was a scientist and he was always making new inventions and experiments. Apart from being a good scientist, he was a great cook.
One day after his usual day's work, he hurried to the kitchen to whip up something for dinner. His hands were soiled from the laboratory but he was in a hurry to get the food cooked.

Turns out that the particles from his experiment got into the food and the whole family dined that night.

I woke up the next morning and I screamed when I looked in the mirror. My body was full of scales, like I was a snake or somethingโ€ฆ

My parents rushed in and I screamed even more. They had the same thing on their body. We all wondered what the cause could be. We hurried to a hospital and the doctor didn't have any idea either and that's when it dawned on my father that he had poisoned all if us.

He got to work, trying to find ways to cure the problem like the scientist that he was and he eventually came up with something. Before he came up with something, the stigmatization I got was massive. I couldn't do the things I loved doing. All my friends were afraid of me. They called me 'snake girl' and that made me feel really bad.

We were varnished from town because they thought that it was a communicable disease and we'd end up spreading it to every other person. We moved far far away from town and finally settled in Urura. We named the place after each letter of our names according to our position in the family. My dad first, my mom, my elder brother, myself and the last girl.

After so much trial and error, we figured that blue light was the only thing that could keep us in shape. Whenever the blue light came up, we returned to normal. My parents made it a point of duty to seal everywhere with the color blue.
Since then, we've lived here and it has been more fun. My parents grew old and translated. I met your dad and he agreed to be one of us. My father's potion was given to him and to every other normal human who cared to join us".

The story behind our existence started out as a sad one but today, we are growing and multiplying. I hope we become a great nation someday. I love it here and that's all that matters. It feels good to stand out from the rest of the world. The rest of the world seems boring, why join in their misery? It's better here. Welcome to Urura

With love, wongi ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's better here. Welcome to Urura

Emmmm... Can I be like Moses? You know, his eyes saw, but his feet didn't enter ๐Ÿ˜‚

You get the gist. Eh? Lol
I would love to see those creatures from a safe distance.

Please ooooo, don't urura me. I'm even watching a sort of scary Kdrama at the moment so, I don't want to add more scary thought to the one I'm already getting ๐Ÿ˜‚.

This is fabulous.

Just out of curiosity, did you have Aurora Bureolis in mind while writing this?

Beautiful one here! Some wonderful things start sadly. People always hate and reject what they don't understand.

You're right friend. Sometimes it's better to see to the end.

Thanks for stopping by.
